It's been 2 months and the recall from Subaru Orange Coast has been perfect - highly recommend.

1. How long did the repair take? 2 weeks
2. Was a courtesy car provided for the duration of the repair? Yes
3. What other parts were replaced with no additional labor (spark plug, etc)? Spark Plug
3. What other parts were replaced with additional labor? None
4. Was the dealer mod-friendly? Yes
5. Did they know what they were doing? Yes, car feels better than before

I had mine done at Autonation Irvine Toyota. Was one of the first 5-10 cars back when the recall started. Car runs quieter than before the recall and driven well over 30k miles by now. Haven't had any issues with excessive silicone in the oil or idling issues.

You're lucky. They destroyed mine. The shop I had do the replacement after Irvine Toyota F'ed it up said it looked like they were trying to see how much silicon they could get into the engine. They sent me photos I I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Interested in seeing the photos if you don’t mind sharing. I had my recall performed 3 mo ago at Longo and so far so good. 🤞

Yep. I even sat the service manager down and went through the whole lecture on making sure only the tech that has the experience with this would perform the operation and I was assured they've done a large number of these with a 100% success rate.
