CLUTCH HELP!

Blew out my clutch at 52,xxx miles. Got it towed to pep boys because it was the closest shop. I need opinions, do I need all these parts, and is the price reasonable because over 2k dollars seems very steep, especially 900$ in labor.

They say I need all these parts, but every clutch kit I find on ft86speedfactory.com do not include all of these parts in the picture. Please help!!! I need my car fixed by next week Monday.....

CLUTCH HELP!

Nope, way too much on labor and parts. I just did a clutch kit/(exedy) and got a new clutch fork from the dealer. Labor should be $3xx-4xx not a grand lol. And no you don’t have to lift or remove the engine which is what toyota of riverside tried telling me and even then they only wanted $1200 for everything. I say go to a performance shop like csg or evasive or 9k and have them do it

For me it was between exedy stg 1 and ACT xt street or whatever. Deciding factor was ACT needs it’s own flywheel and exedy can reuse the stock one

It could be just a throw out bearing and not the actual clutch disk

The parts list looks about right for what they did on mine other than the fly wheel. The price seems a bit high though since my whole job was about $1,200 and that was at dealer prices. You could see if they can have the flywheel resurfaced instead of replaced which would save a bit.
The kits are intended to replace a functioning clutch not repair what was broken so do not include everything on the list. The problem was probably your release bearing not the clutch surface itself. When those suckers go they can take a pile of stuff with them.

what kit would you recommend? it says I need a flywheel, a clutch spring, blah blah.....im really lost in the dark. now that I know its overpriced I can start researching shops. I just need the right clutch kit to buy, and the necessary components for long lasting daily driving....

Anyone know any good shops around local that is good with clutch replacements? I live in Redlands area (909) ....I appreciate any info

It was raining lately, and lets just say I did a few stupid things that night.......but it was fun. now I regret it, that fun was not worth the consequences. Learned my lesson.

That said that parts list could be very well accurate on what you need versus what was damaged from your "fun".

Live and learn your not the 1st won't be the last.

Where are you located? Also, if you don't get aaa, go get it and have it towed to autotuned

You might get lucky and it’s just the throw out bearing, that was the case on mine but since it was all apart i slapped a clutch on. Shit happens i wouldn’t dwell on it. Like that one dbag says “keep moving forward”
