Torque spec for an oil pump housing?
Hi guys,
I'm preparing engine build. A Reimax oil pump gear is prepared, but I can't find any torque spec or assembly instructions regarding the oil pump housing from the FR-S service manual. Please let me know the related info. Thanks. Hanjo

No spec giving there either. I couldn't find the specification in the engine mechanical manual also.
I've decided on the next best option which is to loosen & tighten the bolt. A torque wrench with an angle gauge helps here or you can mark the bolt, break loose the bolt, and measure the torque value it takes to line up the marks again. |

It is not in there. I would measure the diameter and thread pitch of the bolt and go off generic specs for it. Most of the specs in the manual are generic anyway.

7 ft lbs sounds about right. I think that is what the 6mm on the timing cover is spec'd. I'd want to do it in 3 steps since it is a pretty thin cover and I wouldn't want to risk binding on the pump. Hand tight, 4-5 ft lbs, then final torque at 7 ft lbs.
