Are you sure that it is properly filled with oil? Have to ask.

The motor and trans were put in together btw (mated/bolted the motor and trans outside of car, this is alot easier IMO than only installing the motor to the trans inside the car) dropped in the motor/trans in under 2 hours) I did drain and fill the transmission . Filled until it was dripping out of the fill opening. Ill post a pic of the clutch fork/TOB/clips whenever i do pull the motor again.

Okay so i only dropped the trans. Anyways the clutch fork didnt look bad and TOB was still silently spinning when spun. Clips looked okay, the TOB does hang a little but even after i replaced the clips with brand new ones along with a new TOB, the TOB still hangs a little.

Took a photo of my verus clutch fork as well for comparison. The verus fork seems have a slightly tighter grip on the TOB.

Installed the clutch fork with new clips and new TOB. I would say that rattling/ clicking noise still happens but at a much lower leveler. Also i believe its my ac compressor maybe going out? The rattling is primarily from the compressor.

Ill post videos a little later.

Nothing wrong with those components. What do you think? Do you want to just find a used transmission, or take yours to a shop and crack it open?

edit: Can you feel anything when you turn the input shaft by hand?

i suspect it might just be the clutch disc itself. the clutch i have in it is some junk OEM one with over 70k miles, and when received it, it didnt look so great.

i dont recall feeling anything but i didnt really turn the input shaft by hand much.

i did put my fingers into the clutch disc splines and they had faint rattle noise when i was moving them around. i did the same did to my South bend stage 3 daily clutch and it was solid, no noises.

Well, hopefully ill know if its the trans or just the clutch disc later when i do pull the motor and stick it in another FRS. the other FRS im dropping the motor in has another aftermarket clutch, i was planning on taking out the junk OEM on and putting in that aftermarket one. I probably wont have time to do this for a while tho.

Ooo... That would be great if it's the disc. Good thought.

Its probably the clutch disc. Pulled the motor swapped out jank oem clutch disc and put in the aftermarket south bend. Dropped it in and got the car button up and no rattles. Even with the ac on. So yea its likely the poop clutch i had.

Yes! Thanks for sharing your experience. We'll have to remember this for other folks. Would've been tragic to dig into the trans for nothing. I'm super relieved that you checked up on where I was steering. Thank God!
