Yeah Mishimoto did some dyno testing on the resonator chamber on the 1st gen and found it was good for a few hp on the top end. It's not a huge difference though so I could see someone deleting it if they really wanted the extra sound.

Probably yea. I’ll let you know if I ever get on a dyno. My main reasoning for doing this was more induction sound while keeping things visually stock.

I’m considering printing a few and selling them for cheap to those who don’t want to dish out the $100ish for the GS pipe and those who prefer keeping the engine bay looking stock… this is all assuming it does make an actual difference in sound.

It likely won’t make a noticeable difference in power loss(if there is a loss)
Losing 2-3whp isn’t gonna change my life and I’m not a fast enough driver on track to need every ounce of power from this car

my friend used his printer, as my printer cant print ABS(and i also dont want my house smelling like burnt ABS)

50% infill with 4mm walls. unsure of his temp settings. its not perfect by any means and is a very rough print.

definitely strong enough to withstand some clamping force and heat

i might even try PETG. it would be able to handle higher temps

My petg gauge pod is mishaped from being in the car. I wouldn't trust it underhood.

Yup can't complain yet. Just hope the creases don't end up fraying/tearing over time. But overall I like it.

if i do PETG it would likely be 80-90% infill.

i had a PLA cupholder in my 996 that i printed and it survived a whole california summer being parked outside with untinted windows. PLA has a far lower melting point than PETG does.

PETG is a bit more flexible than PLA which is why it may seem to deform more easily especially it's relatively thin in structure or isnt nearly solid. Interior parts also resort to A LOT more heat than people think.. far more than IATs. This plug being in the intake will have constant air flowing near and around it which should keep it safe.

I think a few companies even offer PETG fluid cap sets(brake fluid reservoir cap, clutch fluid reservoir cap and Washer fluid cap) that have been tested and proven for a few years now

Really happy with the face on the car now. Decided to take a hole saw to the tow hook cover so I could reinstall it behind the license plate relocate. The "BRZ" plate is Billetworkz, fits the factory threaded inserts and covers the holes left by the dealers self-tappers. I never thought I'd like a relocate kit, but I was proved wrong.

Got the Perrin trunk handle installed, in a completely incorrect manner, but it holds really well.

Finally had a chance to catch my breath and post today!

One of the more recent things I did was install the Greddy hood dampers. These are specific to the Gen 2 cars and I had to wait several weeks for them to come in from Japan as I couldn't find any US vendors selling them. Overall very pleased, they look and feel great, and I love not having to fiddle with the hood prop anymore!

Waiting on amazon for another 3.3 ohm resistor for the passenger side to get rid of the airbag light.

Does anyone have experience with the new gens and how the passenger seat sensor works? Will I need to remove the sensor sheet/membrane from the stock seat and put that into the aftermarket seat to get the airbags working on the passenger side?

Camber bolts installed, and I'm getting an alignment in just over a week.

Trying to make future plans for wheel spacers, and I've run into a problem. I want to run 20mm all around, but the stock studs are 25mm long. Unfortunately my winter wheels (steelies from an XV Crosstrek) have absolutely no clearance for studs poking thru spacers (whereas the stock 17s on my car have 8mm clearance). So thats annoying. And running 25mm spacers makes me concerned that the studs might be ever so slightly longer than the spacer, causing the wheel to sit crooked.
