I don't do reality tv but hanging out with my brother-in-law, we're kicking back, watching Forged In Fire. Having seen @NoHaveMSG in his element, I can easily picture him winning the competition.

I’d like to get into knife making, I just don’t have the room or the time.

My youngest son and I used to watch Forged in Fire when he was still at home. For reality TV it was a decent show, at least in the early years. Haven't watched it in a while.

Caught a couple minutes of FiF last night in passing.
They were making sticks with nails in them.
Kind of reaching for for it i guess. Not interested.

For a reality show a lot of the procedure is pretty correct. A lot of the issues I see is from working with unknown materials. You can do a few things to figure out enough information about the composition to make an educated guess on proper temps, quench, and temper but I think a lot of that gets overlooked for sake of time. I am sure if Itchi watches it, he picks up the same things.

Oh, the show itself is typically contrived drivel.

I would much rather see the processes of a couple artisans working independently, on their own schedules. The stories could easily keep Average Joe's attention. These producers aim way too low.

It's like the difference between Bear Grylls and my man, Les Stroud.

Unfortunately my favorite blacksmithing channel, he never talks or explains anything but his work is unreal
