They claim it eliminates the rattle that comes from the loose tolerances on the stock lock-out unit.

I'll update once I install it.

How are you using the stock shifter assembly? Cut and welded?

Anyone heard anything about more trans options from KPower lately?

If they manage to put something together as quickly as they have the simple strut bar, any year now would be my best guess.

Sorry I confused myself. I'm using the Kpower setup for the shifter, for some reason I thought you were using an OEM assembly but I see that's what you are trying to do down the road.

Basically I am hoping this perrin lockout will fix my rattle, if not then I might look into doing something like what you want to do.

I didn't realize this was a common issue on stock 86 shifters until now. Some quick searching shows a couple things to try before I mess with the shortened shifter assembly or an aftermarket reverse lockout.

One thing I do know is my wife had a similar shifter rattle in her brand new 2015 STI that was completely stock and un-modified. Dealer told her to kick rocks when she asked about it. But the more I read about it, it really does seem this is just a tolerance issue with the OEM lock-out unit.

Guess I'll find out soon enough. But keep us updated on what you try.

Well another kill in the books, me on full E85 vs a WRX making "310 horsepower" from bolt-ons and tune according to the owner; we were both pretty shocked by the outcome.

I'm really impressed that a junkyard 2006 K24a2 with compression on the lower side will make a Twin faster than a modified WRX. Can't wait to throw in a built engine.

as a daily unmodified wrx owner to that guy. I bet he added up all the HP his combined mods said he made and coughed up a number.

I mean that wouldn't surprise me one bit for sure. But either way I'll take the W. I'd like to race a 370z or STI next that might put me in my place until I get my built engine in. Then it's on to V8 muscle cars

Nice. Thanks for the comparison. I'm sure this package will be potent.

The WRX on a stock turbo really loses a lot of steam on the top end, as torque will drop off once the turbo acts as a restrictor, so a highway race probably won't be where the WRX shines, which is likely out of corner grip/acceleration. In your case, you will likely excel at corner speed/momentum and transient response, as well as, the car will likely do well on straight aways where the high rpms and better top end power means less shifts.

Yes it seems so. Lowest it got was about 20, and I put a 10w-40 oil in it as well. Seeing >80psi at WOT. Logging from the sensor is much improved
