Range ammo

I searched the forums and have not found anything recent or specific to bulk ammo.
So rule 10) NO POLITICS or GUN DISCUSSIONS

I just wanna talk about ammo

I am a new range goer and I was wondering where people go or would recommend going to get 9mm ammo cheap. I have found it at $0.20 a round. This is solely for range pleasure no defense.
Is there brands I should avoid?
Is there cheaper?
Sites I should avoid?

Winchester white box or UMC are the way to go, good quality and usually priced really well. As far as online goes, I'd recommend ammoseek.com or just anywhere the price is right (ammo fluctuates day to day, store to store).

But if you really want to save money I'd say start handloading, or at the very least taking your spent brass in to a shop where they will load it for you. Saves you $$ and the quality is top notch... Also, unless your firearm is a tank like a G17 don't skimp by saving a couple dollars buying shit rounds. Not worth it.

Buy ammo in bulk, online. It's always cheaper. Don't buy them at the range, they charge a premium there for obvious reasons.

Any name brand would work. The ammo is usually more accurate than the shooter anyway.
I load my own so couldn't tell you where to get the cheapest.

I picked up 400 rounds of various size at the last gun show (Crossroads of the West). They're reloads, done by a reputable, sizeable shop. I can't recall their name off the top of my head but I Googled them before buying anything and they're not some fly-by-night, and they got really solid reviews. I have full confidence. I saved a good $150 or so on it all.

White box Winchester

Sellier&Bellot

Fiocchi

^ Those are my personal favorites for centerfire pistol brands. They're usually inexpensive and reliable. I also prefer round nosed full copper jacketed rounds because they'll always work fine with short feed ramps.

CCI can't be beat for rimfire, although I like Aguila also.

Buy online in bulk and you can't go wrong.
