That is hard to believe, six months!

I was trying to negotiate a deal trading in my 2019 Subaru Outback. They would not commit to a trade in price due to the lack of near term availability for a new BRZ. Very frustrating. Will be checking other dealerships to see what they had to say.

Placed order this afternoon thru AT Subaru, Sellersville PA
Small family business gave me a more than generous trade-in on my 19 Outback.

They input the order and came out with a tentative delivery date of January 27th

Limited, Ice silver metallic $30,495
Destination&delivery $960
Six speed Automatic $1800
Auto dimming mirror with compass/home link $355
Cargo tray $120
Rear bumper appliqué $129
Door scuff protector $105
$33,964.00

I have 6 BRZ supposedly arriving this month, orders all took place same day or week once they first opened up orders.

None of them have VINs or an exact day for ETA.

Pretty sure the BRZ’s are behind but with what’s going on right now, we can get a VIN one day and the car arrive next week. Not saying that could happen, but I’ve seen it happen with a few of our Crosstreks.

On a side note, if a dealer is telling you that the ETA of an ordered car is April or May that just means that dealer might have filled a high number of orders already. If you shop around and try to order at another place, if they haven’t put in as many orders then you could see an earlier ETA.

Ahhhhhh… that is good to know and makes sense Veloist.

Case in point Ciocca Subaru, a high volume dealer in my area, provided a delivery date of May. I purchased a BRZ from a much lower volume dealer, AT Subaru. They provided a estimated delivery date late January (and, a much better negotiating experience and deal. Best of both worlds: Earlier arrival and lower price).

With tax, you are looking at around $36K. Not bad.

just ordered

but yes ordered today 10/9 Silver Limited Manual . Just got rubber floor mats and trunk mat. Paid MSRP BUT did well on the trade. They asked me what I wanted, I said whatever the KBB says. They offered above my floor by 2,500 for my trade so I signed and left the 500 dollar deposit. In and out in about 45 minutes after a few emails ahead of that. Have no idea ETA, I can post again if I get a series status update. They said my trade keeps that value while I wait, i'm curoius if this used market tanks in 3 months... it would be a bad situation for them, or me if they tried to back out on the trade offer.

Question Build number

I didn’t build it on the website nor get a build number Dealership emailed after I got home from down payment He said this

We appreciate your time today as well. Keep an eye on your email, as you will get updates on your 2022 BRZ directly from Subaru of America that will take you from the build process all the way to them shipping the car !! As always you can reach out to us in the meantime if you have any questions.

Thanks again !

So I guess my order isn’t placed until I complete it online??

If he's telling you that you're going to get email updates, they definitely put in a sold order for you. Maybe give the store a quick call back and get a VON from them, but it won't really help you much other than the ability to get an estimated month of arrival. Emails are auto-generated once status changes, so there's not much use to calling into SOA for updates as you'll get timely updates anyways.

Apparently the email updates are unreliable. I found multiple threads on the Internet of people ordering Subarus throughout the past 10 years that never got any sort of email correspondence from SOA. I haven’t gotten any emails from them, but when I call them they always give me an update so that’s nice.

Emails are automated and doesn’t go to a person if you reply.

These automated sold order emails started like 4 years ago.

This is different from contacting SOA via the contact page on Subaru.com and communicating via email. If you go this route you connect to a real person and can ask for an update with the VON but they will not provide you with updates afterwards/ as status changes.

I meant that not everyone gets the SOA emails. I’ve checked with SOA on the phone that the correct address is on my order, yet there’s no emails.

I am the same here. I have not got an email saying thank you for the BRZ order, but I did get an email saying thank you for your interest in the BRZ. I assume I will get an email for updates from now on.

My order is in: Premium with a manual in WR blue.

The dealership I was talking to has a BRZ incoming sometime in November by their reckoning. Didn’t have what I wanted :/ They estimated mine would arrive in January.

We shall see, won’t we?
