I have owned the car less than three weeks and have been flagged down twice. Once just today in downtown Minneapolis at a stop light. The guy next to me (in a Chrysler 200 I think) asked me what the car was. I told him a Subaru BRZ and he told me he thought it was a Porsche since it was so low to the ground.

My wife has taken it to the gym a few times and several guys stop her and ask her about it (although they may be talking to her for a whole different angle). She told me she feels like a cougar driving it since the guys are in their early 20's and she is just shy of 40 (but looks 30).

This may not count, but...We're on base (Ft. Gordon) and within 10 min of getting out of church last Sunday and talking to a few buddies, I happen to look back at my car and there's 2 soldiers in civilian clothes taking cell phone pics of my car. I had to make sure it was mine or maybe the car in front, but it was a minivan, so that sure wasn't it. I was looking at them while they took pics at different angles. I was gonna say something, but I didn't.

My favorite moment ever happened yesterday. A guy in a mustang was filming me sitting at a red light. I usually have problems with mustangs.

I get thumbs up quite a bit or the occasional "whats dat?" but my favorite so far has been from a kid in the neighborhood next to mine.

He was probably 6-7 and messing around on bikes with his buddy/brother near the intersection I was approaching. As I start to take off from the stop sign he notices my car and immediately yells at the top of his high pitched lungs "WOAH! COOL CAR!!"
Best. Reaction. Ever.
I gave him a rev and a thumbs up.

Had 3 sweet ride bro encounters in one day yesterday. One guy getting out of his truck at a coffee shop ask me how much did my car cost. While paying for my gas at the gas station, the attendant said "you have a good looking car" and then on the way home had someone give me a thumbs-up. Made an otherwise frustrating day pretty awesome.

In the 9 months of owning the car, I've gotten several. As of late, it's been mostly older gentlemen asking how I like it so far and start to chat about it. No more "OH EM GEE, THAT'S A BRZ!!11!" reactions in my neck of the wood.

Best I had was a guy who pulled up in modded civic. Was expecting him to start revving or something, but he then proceeded to stick out a huge cardboard sign that said "sick car!" Totally made my day lol

Last weekend, driving past an estate sale, some kids in the back of the jeep said "Yah, that's a corvette!!"

Today, 3-series vert strolls by and shouts out "Very cool!" and a woman was walking around it at walgreens.

I forgot to post this when it happened, but, my wife's cousin was visiting from out of town and they were joining us for lunch. Their son said for them to park beside his favourite car and they jokingly said, "just be careful when you get out because you wouldn't want to dent your cousin's car." They came in and told us about it and without them describing it, my wife had said, "you mean the red one? That actually is ours" (albeit technically mine). It was kind of funny because they meant to be joking, but, it was in fact the truth and cool that their son had said that his favourite car is an FR-S. Later that weekend when we got together one more time, he asked "did you bring your cool car?" and of course the answer was "yes".

A guy at a gas station talked to me the other day and said, "Is that really a Subaru? I always thought Subaru cars were a bit bigger and usually a tad more unappealing, but this thing is cool!"

I proceeded to explain to him that it's a joint venture with Toyota and Toyota designed the exterior and added direct injection.

Then he proceeded to take pictures of my car.
