I repeat:
Wrong colour!
Although I get loads of "Nice Car" from women what they are really saying is "Nice coloured car". They do not know nor care about what the car is and just see small, fancy, shiny and expensive looking.

Had a compliment from the Jiffy Lube female cashier, "Scion FR-S, good call". Probably one of the few and far between compliments from the opposite gender. Otherwise mostly male, but, more so only when she's clean. No one even looks twice when she's dirty, but, washed, I immediately get compliments.

On another occasion, I actually had someone honking at me to get my attention to then ask me "what car is that?". Surprised, I simply told them. They then asked if she was fun to drive. I had enough time to respond "tons" before the stoplight changed. Also just washed prior to the convo.

Ya, I no longer assume that everybody that comes zipping up or paces me is a "come race me bro" encounter but believe the vast majority are more "WTF is that" situations.
Just this morning I had a G37 coupe come ripping up behind me just after hitting the highway. They stuck behind me for a minute and then came up and paced me. After a couple of miles they then shot ahead and pulled in front. At this point I am beginning to wonder what this guy is doing. Couple minutes later they pull into the right lane, slow down until I am past them and pull in behind again. They ride there a while and then pull up beside me roll down the window and give me a big thumbs up.
They guy made sure he got a good view from all sides and I am pretty sure he was listening to the exhaust while behind me.
Don't mind saying that I enjoyed the attention once I figured out what was going on.

In OR - we still have gas station attendants - no self-serve...

Pulled up to the Chevron. Guy leans in the window and says "I'm not even gonna ask. This car has premium written all over it."

My ex coworker keeps mentioning about my car when we see each other. Is this another way to say I should ask her out?

I have my CFO come and talk to me every week, and every time it's about my car I've had for about two months now. Hes an older gentleman as well. But that's expected from a guy. If a girl says something and isn't a car-person, then I'd say go for it. Worst she can say is no. It isn't like you'll see her at work anymore

Of course. "Wanna go for a spin?" is the correct response. Then, instead of drifting it into a curb or something - take a nice drive.

Sitting on deck at cottage Saturday when 20 or so 14/15 year olds in a bike group rode past mine in a long line.

"Look at that"
"Cool"
"Sweet"
"I want it"
"Beautiful"
"That's sic"
"Niiiice"
"Wow"
"Great ride"
"That thing is uuuuuugly"

I guess you can't please everybody!

There were actually more but I don't remember them all.
Pretty sure I would not want to be the one kid when they got to wherever they were headed. The responses to his comment were not pretty (pretty much what you would get here actually).

I've gotten plenty of people giving me a thumbs up on the highway as i pass them/they pass me and people at the gas station asking me what kind of car it is. Girls at the college nearby always ask me what kind of car it is and if they can get a ride in it.

My friend and i (who owns a BRZ as well) were parked next to eachother outside of a chipotle away from where everyone usually parks. We went inside to grab our food and ate outside in view of our cars. A kid walks across the parking lot and takes a picture of our cars with flash on from his hip trying to be sneaky. We start laughing and the kid runs away .

A few kids walked up to me outside of my house when i was washing my car and asked if i was rich and how much it cost.

And this has all been within 3 months of me owning it.
