My headlights failed in this same pattern too. Because they failed in an exact straight line next to the hood, I blamed my detailer who let his buffing pad rub against the head light when he did the work. But really, the problem might just happen on its own.

I've done quite a few headlight sanding / polishing jobs but it was always on older cars with cheap headlights. I'd like to see how well a full headlight job would come out on these cars. No idea what the 400 grit guy was doing.. I'd use 1000-3000 grit on these headlights.

I'm doing the boomerang high power mod next weekend and painting the interior. Once that is done I'll take off whatever coating is there and spray them with SpraxMax 2k clear and then protect them with film.

If you read my post my headlights were sprayed with clear. Not polished.

Just realized my picture link didn't work. This is what they look like afterwards. This was also after two winters.

I used the Meguiar's headlight kit with the UV spray on my brother-in-laws 06 Corvette headlight (1 had been replaced) about 5 months ago in Florida and the one I did is still very clear. Again, the details are in the prep.....

Also, from past recollection, the folks that make the clear bra film for cars (Xpel) also make pre-cut pieces for headlights and if I remember correctly, that once you get the lenses buffed out and clear, applying the clear film to them will prevent them from getting chalky/yellow again.

I have used that kit in the past. The results are amazing.
