Help! Trim clips lost down inside chassis!
So basically in accordance with this thread, http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10002 I lost trim clips and they fell down inside the gap in the boot/rear area and are now somewhere inside the side of the chassis rattling around in the doors. Any ideas how to remove these? (get inside the rail that runs under the doors) or stop them from rattling? Cheers guys for any help Driving me nuts and i'm starting to hate the car

Could you not spray some type of wax anti-corrosion aerosol into the box section? Then, when it dries, it 'should' stick the clips down, stopping them from rattling.

Maybe a strategic application of some of this stuff might help "trap" the clip

If you take off the rear plastic panel (where the rear speaker is), you will see a big hole where the rear speaker is.
Stick a small torch and a camera in that hole and start snapping, you may be able to find clip in there some where. To get it out, I used a double sided tape (foam type) at the end of TWO coat hangers stuck together to get it out. I needed two coat hangers as it was too deep First picture shows the clip near the front wheel arch, the second photo show the clip on the double sided foam tape. I think I took about 30 photos trying to get close to the clip. |
