Is this a track car or street car? I really doubt you'll see much of a real world difference between a 265 and 275 in terms of grip, and a 265 can be (relatively) easily shoe horned under your front fenders. With a square setup, you retain proper handling characteristics of the car and ability to rotate.

For "10" mm extra tread out back, you sacrifice so much....

Its just a street car... Im just going more for that "wow" factor. I love the tread design on the INVOs, thats mainly why Im going with those tires.

I originally was just planning on going with 235/40 and 265/35, which is a fairly common set up. And Im already planning on rolling the fenders to be on the safe side.

I just happened to come across Texasbound's posts and wanted some thoughts and opinions

Nice to find someone else @FaDuck that chooses tyres on how they look too

If I'm choosing between tyres I'll check how the tread and side wall looks. I like a square side wall as well as a race-car looking tread pattern :-)

Currently I'm using Bridgestone RE003 that I don't think are available in USA or they have a different model but do like the Nitto INVO "look" and had them before this set.

Looks great, what are the wheel specs? Got any more shots from the front or back to show how flush they are?

Hard to tell, is the tire chunked a bit from rubbing?

Yeah there was tire rub in the rear from my previous, slightly more aggressive wheels. I've since then pulled the rear quarters more and added RUCA offset bushings.

The Volk ZE40 18x10 +40 works well with the 285's? or is that the wheel that was rubbing?

You'd have to run a between a 10-15mm spacer up front I'd guess to not hit the frame at full lock would be my guess. Rear would be ok with an aggressivs pull

Are those the wheels that chunked your tires? The new bluish wheels, are those a different offset or are those the same wheels just refinished?

I'm doing a LS swap and shooting for 500+ at the wheels, so I need big rubber under my car and I like how your car sits and looks in all the pictures...but I need it to be usable with aggressive driving in the "back roads" know what I mean?

I'm pretty much thinking to go with your set up or do a wide body with 315's or 335's, though I'm not really excited to do a wide body.

What would you advise?

Blue wheels are different... my old te37's (6 spokes) would rub the very outer edge of the of the tire tread where it meets the sidewall. They were 4mm more aggressive, my rear quarters weren't pulled as much as they are now, and no RUCAS mods.

I can't recommend doing adjustable RUCAS (rear upper control arms) or RUCAS offset bushings paired with lower control arms for camber correction enough.

But honestly, I don't feel any need to go widebody. I'm pretty confident that a 305mm section width tire will fit under the 86's factory quarters. I'm going to attempt it in the future, I would like to go widebody... but the stuff I want isn't very affordable lol
