Beauty Supra!

If its not tying up funds, just keep it. Not worth selling after you have put that much work into it.

This is my weekend toy. I don't drive it that much, but its a damn fun car that gets a lot of attention.

Last year I had bought a 2013 Elantra to be my boring DD, but after owning it for a year it was involved in an accident writing it off. I thought it was a good car, but I found it to be incredibly boring, being that I am a gear head at heart.

So I have now bought a brand new Whiteout FRS, I take delivery this week, and couldn't be more excited, but at the same time, I cant help but think about the supra.

Although both Toyota(sort of), RWD, 2 Doors, standard, and white, there are a lot of similarities, but at the same time the cars are very different from one another.

I don't know if I should keep the supra, keep it a dedicated weekend car and occasional track day. Or will having an FRS take some of that joy out of owning the supra, and will it go to the back of the shelf? Out of the box the supra is clearly a much faster car. But if I were to sell it I could make the FRS an amazing machine with money left over...The FRS is my daily driver right now, but that doesn't meant that if I sold the supra I wouldn't pick up a winter beater for the future.

I just don't know what to do.
Insurance is cheaper with 2 cars 1 driver. The only negative is paying the registration for both cars. I say unless you have a family of four in which case you need the back seats, you best be looking for a 4-5 seater dd. If your just single or with 1 chick lol, keep the fr-s as a dd. I'm sure it gets better mpg than the supra.

Like everyone else said, if you've put that much money into the car and it isn't hurting you finically... keep the damn thing

At worst you get bored, sell it for a hefty mark up (and to a decent owner who will take care of it) or be evil and do a 2JZ engine swap for an ultimate FR-S sleeper

Keep it! I'll never sell my Supra's! If anything, I'll add more to the collection lol.

If you sell the supra to dump all the money into the FRS which is your daily, it will soon become a NOT daily, or one that you wouldn't want to daily. Then you have the Supra, all over again.

I daily my FRS, it has wheels and coilovers. It will get an exhaust and MAYBE a header, but that's just for a bump in power and some sound, but that's all it will ever see (other than some "looks" stuff) as long as it is the daily driver. I've made the mistake of "diving too deep" into my daily's before, and it never takes long before they aren't enjoyable for a daily anymore.

You could get a good wad of dough from the Supra, But I have always seen it as a Tuners favorite more than an actual classic car. Maybe it could be the first (Or second AE86?) Tuners Classic? So in that regard I can't say for sure if the demand for Supra's will rise or fall.

But I would be interested in a straight up comparison of things you like more or less of the FR-S to the Supra. It is kind of Apples to Oranges but It would make an interesting read for us. Since you own both it would be perfect.

Thanks guys, I've decided to keep the supra, It will see a lot more track time duty this coming year.

I would be happy to do a write up of the Supra Vs FRS but I need more seat time in the FRS first.

I can tell you the cars are very different.

My friend is still pissed about how the prices of Supra's skyrocketed after...that movie. He'd always wanted one, and was saving up, and then the prices quickly climbed out of his affordable price range when that movie came out. Now he's got kids and other stuff, so I doubt he'll ever get into one now.
