Forced Induction or upgrade car?

So going FI will cost me about 10 grand but I worry about reliability. I am flirting with using that money and trade in value to go to something with more HP instead.

If it were you would you go FI on your 86 or upgrade to a used care with more omph?

OP, do some searching. It is not that we don't want to help but this has been discussed a million times and ultimately it comes down to your decision.

It is alot easier to find info on the site by googling: FT86 followed by what you're looking for

In what world does going FI on this car cost 10 grand? Are you even searching or researching properly?

JRSC+tune+oil cooler puts you at $5500. Only when you start adding stuff in like brakes, tires, air oil seperator, headers does it even get close to $10000

1. If you're worried about reliability an upgraded used car is really not the way to go.

2. If you want a "big power in a straight line" sorta GT, get another car.

3. If you want a little more power in your nimble but noisy sports car, keep your 86 and add a UEL+e85 or F.I. for even more.

If I was willing to spend $40K instead of $20K, my next option was a fully loaded premium all black '16 Mustang GT with the Recaro seats. If I only needed one car and didn't care about motorcycles too, it's probably the car I'd have for the power and reliability package.

In Canada (OP is from Alberta)

Well maybe not $10k just for an FI kit, but after all the monetary conversion and fun fun taxes, it does get up there. When it comes to automotive modding (amongst other things) we are unfortunately not as privileged you boys down in the the U-S and A.
