NY International Auto Show

Anybody go to the NY Auto Show yet (http://www.autoshowny.com/)? It was pretty good and the SCION display was hyper as usual. In regards to the FR-S, they had: a red Monogram FR-S (I think I'm going to get the knee pads for my 10), a modded asphalt '14 FR-S (great wheels and body kit) and of course the Release Series (looks even better in person despite the yellow paint). The was a sterling silver metallic BRZ downstairs (the emphasis once again was WRX -the BRZ drew a crowd but it seems to the be Subaru's red headed stepchild).
I guess Mazda learned their lesson by not showing exciting sporty concept cars they know will never see the light of day in a million years. Instead they had their usual line up downstairs and upstairs a gathering of Miatas through the years for the 25th anniversary. In a perfect world a hybrid rotary would not burn oil, get 50+ mpg, and have techs that weren't afraid of them -but it'll never happen.
The new Mustangs were fascinating but locked. The white Mustang on the rotating stage was the 50th anniversary -you know the Ford dealerships are going to rip off the 1,964 customer lining up for them now. I can understand why they are locked but there no exact details made public (HP/price/MPG). I don't know if Ford quality is good enough to take a chance on a first year model. It'd be weird having a very Japanese coupe and the epitome of affordable American muscle -talk about the mullet and rice jokes!
Honda was a snooze -same old line up (why'd they display the Insight as it has already been discontinued?). Hey, Civic Si! -still no LED tail lights (KIA is laughing at you!).
Very obvious Nissan's Maxima concept will get watered down, Nismo 370Z was over priced (for $45k they couldn't throw in navigation?). GTR had a cool matte gray paint job (don't touch it or the Nissan police will freak out).
The Infiniti Q60 coupe was impressive though a little overpriced for what you get.
The TSX and ILX were boring and TLX was (to me) more of the same except for the great LED headlights.
Downstairs Mitsubishi had their whole lineup but only in white -how are they still in business selling the same old tired vehicles in the US? Pack it in already, the days of guys spending almost 40k for a Lancer are over!
Same vendors upstairs (that never changes) -if products like Perma Seal & IBIZ are so great how come nobody reviews or talks about them anywhere? They have one vendor selling DVDs and Blu-Rays of street racing (I think this sends the wrong message to the simple minded).

P.S. when you go to SCION make sure you tell them you have a FR-S and they'll give you a SCION lip balm, SCION keychain (different from previous years), and a white FR-S mini racer toy.

The auto show is basically the same thing every year, you go to see the premiers or if you're car shopping it's a chance to judge a bunch of books by their covers until you start test driving.
I wish the there were more car centric vendors -blue jewelry cleaner and etc.? The toy car vendors had everything but the twins (they have normal cars and exotics why not ours?).
If driving in NYC and parking wasn't such a PITA it would've been a great meeting spot for all us.

I went on Saturday. I enjoy it but next time I'll go on a later day when it isn't as hectic like the first few days.

@Midarete what no 4C or Stinger pic? j/k... I stared at the Alfa for a while...it's doors are so tiny I can't imagine anyone trying to get in or out! The Stinger is uglier in person and was oddly hidden on an access ramp. Rays had a Rocket Bunny downstairs at their display. It was a pretty good show this year.

Haha, the 4C was swamped with people. If you're talking about the yellow frs from RavSpec then that isn't a Rocket Bunny kit its a Varis, I asked them about it, they also have the DEPO headlights

I went on Sunday. Seems Toyota was the only one who really showed anything at the show. They had the FT-1, RS1.0 FR-S, a crazy drumline performance, LFA and a whole "Made in the USA" truck exhibit where they put mountain bikes and dirtbikes everywhere they would fit so everyone could see how fun they are.
Everyone else's setup was just recycled from last year.

I did like the 918 Spyder though!

Like everyone else is saying, I mentioned I had an FR-S and the cute blonde gave me a hat, keychain, FR-S pull-back car and some Scion lip balm lol
