I did the pvp portion of the Thorn bounty 99% with a 77 Wizard and 1% a blue void rocket launcher. The 77 Wizard was by far not a terrible weapon, but has a learning curve. The mindset needs to be "get the kill" though, rather than "get the kill with my void weapon." If they're ranged and you can't compete, better get a gun in that slot that can. A void kill gets you five points instead of none, sure. But a death takes away points which is worse than zero.

Cool. Part of the reason I suck is because I never do it. A big part is knowing the maps and knowing where the heavy ammo drops. Also, equipping your character correctly is very important, something it took me a long time to learn lol. I kinda wish I had done some IB this go around but no biggie, I'll probably hit it up next time it's around.

Oh yeah, I picked up Universal Remote from Xur this morning. Now I can rock two shotguns in PvP lol.

IB is a great way to practice PVP because you're also working towards something so it makes you want to push through. Took me a while to find my groove and my preferred loadout.

I pretty much rely on The Last Word, stick to medium/close range, don't even bother with headshots, just unload. Time to kill on that gun even with body shots is really quick, just don't miss.

I also found I do a lot better when my GF is watching Netflix, lag is your friend in the Crucible.

Yeah, speaking of lagging I hear a lot of people cheat by using lag switches. Might explain why my last attempt at Crucible went so bad. There were a few guys that were impossible to kill but kept 1-2 shot me.

There's definitely cheaters, but some people just cant afford good internet and if you play this game with REALLY terrible internet (under 5 mbps) you're at a massive advantage. Or you get a guy in Europe.

Try the Netflix thing, I can almost guarantee your K/D will go up.

FWIW I'm 35mbps down, 10 or 15 up.

Hah, when I was on vacation at Edisto Beach I brought my PS4. The internet was godawful, but I was doing way better than usual in crucible, which at the time was pretty abysmal. It was then that I learned lag is my friend... as long as I'm the one lagging.

Shotguns in PvE wreck shit now. It's amazing. Oh, and I got a blue handcannon from crucible that I was just going to go ahead and toss, but the impact on it is so high that two shots will down a player. First cuts the shield off, second headshot is a kill. It's amazing.

Oh, and @53Driver I missed this earlier. A paid subscription would kill the game. There are very few games that are successful with one anymore. Only those behemoths, really, can get away with it.

Hear you on playing with a terrible connection being a disadvantage, which is what I have - wireless only connection at low speeds. Hate it when I have to unload a full magazine of sniper rifle ammo with headshots into an opposing player before it registers (if that even), and ammo pick-ups not registering and giving you the ammo...rrrrRRRR! That is a very small percentage of the time though... my connection is usually okay enough to play normally without any glitches.

I mainly live in Strikes and Crucible (especially in Combined Weapon), and just picked up Bad Juju from Weekly Heroic Strike bounty... was quite the job to take it from Exotic Bounty to actually unlocking it and having it physically in your inventory, about had a heart attack when "Defeat 10,000 opponents in Crucible to unlock it..." was shown, but it thankfully wasn't really take down 10,000 players... whew! LOL. It's nice on Strikes and okay in the Crucible so far without any upgrades. My weapon of choice is the Pike though...come at me Light Level 30+ bro's! Just like in Halo, put me in a ground vehicle with weapons and unleash me on the opposing team... LOL

What would be awesome is if there was a way to barter or trade gear/items with other players...and also if you were able to modify/upgrade your vehicles (I want to hot rod my Sparrow!). And also it would be nice if you could truly fully customize your wardrobe appearance instead of having dumb, limited color schemes, that you keep picking up over, and over, and over...

Couple of my buddies picked this game up so I started leveling another hunter, already made it to level 8!

Was kinda weird, playing through those early Cosmodrome missions was...dull. That's probably the best way I can put it.

Yeah, was kinda strange when I leveled my other Titan 2 weeks back. I think part of what made it strange was I felt like I was playing a game that most of the people I first started playing with were not playing any longer. Best way I can describe it is that the game seems pretty hollow now. Maybe I just miss the days where I could fire up the console and there was almost always someone on my friends list who was playing that I could join up with and run through stories/strikes/Weeklies or the Nightfall.

On the bright side, if you stick with it, I am learning that having an alternate character can be fun. Wish I had spent the time to do it months ago now. Also, once you hit level 20 just throw any extra legendary/exotic armor you have sitting in the Vault and you'll be instant level 30/31 depending on whether that armor is upgraded or not.

Having one of each type of Guardian lets you appreciate the differences in each...and find the best application for each. All three of mine are leveled in the mid/high 20's and I find my preference right now is my Titan for Crucible because it's the quickest and fastest character (I like SPEED and agility in my characters, and all mods/upgrades on my Titan are for max speed/agility.) Warlock works great for strikes/PVE though... because you don't have to get close like you do with the Titan...you have long range artillery power and devastating vortex grenade support! Not really doing much with my hunter... not as fun to play as the Titan or Warlock but probably the best character to use as sniping support and if you are running Blade Dancer mode you can really do some damage in the Crucible or any other close combat scenario.

Gunslinger stability buffs are where it's at, combine that with a Hand Cannon and wreck everything.

Invisibility in BladeDancer makes it the ultimate support class. I can't even count how many people I've revived in Nightfalls.

Yeah, until I Fist of Havoc your little Hunter with your pretty little Dance Machines.

Did you do the NF last night? I got on and did the Weekly with my Primary character and then started the NF solo, not to really complete it but mostly to work on my Pocket Infinity bounty. One of my friend's joined me and helped me finish the bounty but it still took about 45 minutes and then he bounced so I didn't finish the NF.

At least I have PI now, not too impressed with it yet. The range seems horrible but I haven't unlocked any perks/damage upgrades yet.

The nightfall is pretty easy to solo this week.
If you have a weapon with armor piercing, there's a window you can jump through on the second floor on the left in Sepiks room where you cannot get hurt.
You can't do any damage unless you have the armor piecing perk though.
