Anyone familiar with importing exhausts into Canada and whether we get hit with duty? Not a showstopper, but it would be nice to be prepared before getting hit with the charge lol.

I Think normally UPS will tell you ahead of time. Maybe contact the company u plan to purchase from and see if they can confirm what the number will be. USPS/CanPost I think also tells you ahead of time what that charge will be.

How loud are the single exit like Tomei 80? Also, how much and which rpm is the drone?

The Tomei 80 is one of the loudest exhausts you could possibly buy. If you’re asking these questions, the Tomei 80 isn’t right.

There are other more palatable single exhausts, like the HKS V2 or the EVS 70mm.

I've got the 3" myself installed. It sounds super good and I'm very happy with it BUT it does drone a bit around 2.9k rpm, it's mostly annoying on the highway, you can't really go past 60mph else it'll drone. Keep in mind the exhaust is on for only like 150 miles and usually, things settle and quiet down a bit after like 1k miles.

This isnt my first modded car, I've had plenty of catbacks, shitty and good quality ones and the Perrin is exceptional in that regard and I've never had a catback that doesnt drone a bit, that's just a consequence of having smaller resonator/muffler than stock.

Sometimes I feel that people just doesnt understand what "drone" actually mean and some people just tolerate it more than others.

This is the video that sold me on the Perrin :

I've used Touge Tuning in Ontario for my Perrin 3"

My Greddy SP did not drone whatsoever. It’s not impossible but it does require more R&D than slapping a muffler and resonator between some pipes and call it a day.

Sure I agree but the Greddy SP is also not much louder than stock from what I've heard. It's a hard balance to achieve.

Man that does sound good...

I have watched a ton of videos online, and I am leaning towards the new magnaflow exhaust demo'd by a few YouTubers, however they have it listed on their web sight for a whopping $1,974! I really like it, but I am not sure I like it that much!

Anyone know why it would be priced so high? Am I missing something?

I just can’t get past Magnaflow’s build quality compared to their price-competitors.

That has to be placeholder pricing. That or the thing comes with someone who installs it for you and does your laundry for a year.

This is the video that sold me on the Perrin :

Would you do the Perrin again? I have one on order, but if the drone is bad I’m thinking of canceling and going with something quieter. I know it’s completely subjective. All the reviews of the Perrin have been outstanding along with CSG.

Had a Q300 on my STI and a Cobb catback on my wrx. I’m also getting older and value comfort in my old age . … tried 3 suspensions on the STI and while it was fun at the time, I wouldn’t want such a harsh ride today.

Agree with your assessment, my Q300 wasn’t whisper quiet as a lot of the reviews would have you believe. Perrin claims no drone, and I’m sure it’s less annoying than others. Curious how much louder it is vs the CSG

How far do you live from the border? Ship to a PO Box, drive across with a set of ramps and tools in your trunk, install exhaust, drive home … lol

My guess if it appears to be US or Mexico made, no duty but maybe GST and UPS used to whack you with a “customs representation” fee, no idea if they still do

Is the sti/trd exhaust coming to the US? The last one wasn’t sold here right.
