Clarified with KW the belt is supposed to be 1280.

I hammered mine flat and haven't had an issue with them. Maybe have some custom ones made with thicker steel?

mmm...
i'm not sure I understood "the exact reason why". are you saying you used wrench with long lever, pulled as hard as you could to tighten the bolts and then once you pulled the threads you went out to lookup the torque specs? |
