Back on topic, very painful to look at that pic. My theories are as follows:

A.) He or she backed up with the door open and caught a very sturdy object (
.

B.) As previously stated, it was hit by a careless driver (although I'm still trying to figure out how the passenger door was involved...unless it was on a one way street with parking on the left )
Making a left and someone tries to make a right at an intersection with a large enough shoulder to facilitate a right on red?

What makes either one of you think it works that way? I'm fairly certain it has to do with the overall amount of the specific vehicle still being operational or unwrecked as well as available parts, rather than who was at fault. Who is at fault is simply for their specific claim.

Example, if an airplane engine falls out of the sky and lands in a parking lot full of FR-S's and BRZ's...you can bet everyones rates are going up because the supply just decreased, and yet not a single driver was at fault.

Actually, you can count on the cost of your airfare going up to cover their costs rising

Well, let's hope that never happens as that would be a sad day for FT86 Club.

(Note to self: Don't park parallel to runway flight paths.)

He could have been drifting left at an intersection and had his passenger side go up into something.

A drivers natural reaction is to put the passenger side at risk when faced with an imminent accident. The safest seat in a car(4door) is back seat drivers side. The Japanese will always put their guest or business associates in that spot.
