I was hoping to reinforce the tabs myself before they get worse over time. I avoid contacting the dealer unless I really have to.

Word. Mine looked great for a few thousand miles. I have done the DIY that was posted awhile ago to my car. I am happy.

Mine does not.
I have:
Plowed through 14+ inches of snow several times
Bounced it off uncountable drive way entrances, stop logs, speed bumps and anything else protruding more than 3 1/2 inches from the road surface
Smacked into a few pieces of truck tire and 2 dead raccoons at speed on the highway

All in all just put it through hell and it is still as firm as the day it rolled off the assembly line. Will probably go all to hell when I install my fog lights so I will just have the clips on hand at that point in time.

Well, you are very lucky.

The first month I owned my car and the first time my wife borrowed the FR-S; she hit a chunk of Semi tire. It ripped my bumper off. And since it was so new, no replacement parts were available; they fixed my F-ed bumper and reinstalled it. So, that's why I had a gap. Did the DIY, and now its fixed. I like the buttons; they make it easy to take on and off.

I have had my over 6.5 years now.

That was the fate of the plastic splash pan under the rad on my car. I can still hear the noise as it was ripped off and bounced under the car.

Just so you know you can install fog lights without removing the bumper. I did it on my old BRZ with the factory kit.

I went to the Subaru dealership and they can't find the part numbers on their catalog at all, even did their Subaru Service Board search. They mentioned it might be a Subaru Japan thing only as of now, hence the invoice at the end of the first post

I did a search on jp-carparts.com and came up with zero results. If anyone has a link that would be very helpful as my local SUBARU parts department drew a blank as well.

Did you give them the part number?
Or search it at Japan parts?
