Unhappy Causes of Very High Fuel Consumption?

Hi all,
I own a 2012 Toyota GT86 and since i bough the car i am experiencing very high fuel consumption.

16 lt /100 km city driving
10 lt / 100 km highway driving
20 lt /100km if i joy-drive it.

When i check my momentary fuel consumption it is 50lt when i floor the gas, and it is 20lt during slow traffic driving.

There is nothing wrong with the car while i am driving it.
The car is in stock condition as well.
Do you have any suggestions on what can cause this much of a consumption?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Don't use the real time usage gauge. It is meaningless. Reset your average gauge and leave it alone for a couple of weeks and you will get a more realistic number.

What is your average? Should be around 7-9L/100km

My average at car computer is 12lt/100km, however my real consumption is 16lt/100 km in city driving (which includes short periods of highway)
Meaning when i purchase 15lt of petrol, the gas is finished after 90km of driving

What do you guys think the problem might be?

Sorry, will edit that.

12l/100km average is high fuel consumption.

You either drive aggressively always or you have another issue.

The 16l/100km is during non-aggresive driving.
The consumption jumps to 20l/100km during aggresive driving

Stop checking the gauge, and get out your calculator. Fill all the way up, drive till you need to fill up again, and then divide # km by # liters you put in to fill all the way up.

Do that a few times and check your gauge. Unless your engine is magically bigger than everyone else's, or your exhaust REEKS of unburnt gas, the gauge is probably just wrong.

Factors that can eat gas:
-Lots of stop and go traffic
-more city than highway
-Redlining the thing at every and all opportunity possible
-cruising at 4k+ rpm

But even still the mileage seems excessively high....was it a used car or a new one?

How often do you reset the average gauge?

Hey, these values are my actual calculations.
The computer hasn't been reset for 2 weeks (showing 12lt because thanks to highway driving)

OK. I just have a very hard time believing it is even possible to get that sort of mileage. You would have to have fuel pissing out of the car someplace.

Your right foot!

Other things are your engine is running rich or your brother is stealing your gas while you sleep.
