Another article written on pure speculation, reiterating what all the other articles written on speculation have said.

Why is it rendered as a hatchback? Not that I'm against it, just seems odd.

My thoughts? It's clickbait. Nothing else.

Hello Danikt and welcome to our forum -

If you collect up all these types of articles and them look back at them in a couple of years, there is a good chance that none of them will have been right -

There is an old saying "drive what's available now".

(I jest made that up - )

The URL tells me everything I need to know. It's garbage clickbait. Not even going to read it.

The damn autocar report picked up so much attention even motortrend ran with it. It’s obvious everything is speculation because autocar won’t even mention a source besides “a report,” but now the whole internet thinks their rendering and info is the real car and everyone is freaking out.

It’s amazing what false information can do to people...imagine if people did that with geopolitics...oh wait...

I kinda feel like making my own article about the next-gen and see how many people I can trick.

The 2021 Toyota 86: Hybrid, SUV, Turbo? Maybe All 3. Number 5 will shock you...

My thought:

(1) Even if a prototype is shown in 2021, I doubt if it will be for sale before 2023.

(2) History has shown that rushing a new model out leads to many, many significant quality problems.

(3) Toyota has tried to spice up its line-up, even Camry and Corolla have become less boring. There is hope the new FT86 will keep its high performance bias.

(4) I will not be surprised if it contains some electrification feature, eg a hybrid drive-train.

(5) I am very happy with my 2019 FT-86, it is free of many bugs of early models.
