What should be expected in 85-90 deg ambient with the JRSC + track oil cooler? I need to reinstall my air guides, but I'm looking for what's "normal" after doing so since I was at 260+ at one point as well.

Trackspec hood vents dramatically improve cooling, if you need a quick fix. Make sure all your underbody panels and fender liners are in place and intact. |

That's just it, it doesn't seem to take much with the dual cooler. ~15 minutes on a momentum track at 80F ambient gets me to over 260F oil Temp and I put the heater on max to keep it at 265.
About 10-12 minutes at 86F ambient on a tight heavy braking track and I'm over 270 oil temp. |

Agreed, it doesn't take a lap record pace to get the temps that high. Here I'm running a 2:10 around PittRace being conservative with a passenger that just wanted a ride, notice from the sound I'm not very aggressive in a few sections (
). I turned the heater on in lap 4 as I was already in the 240 range. Ran a 2:08 in a different session and was only able to keep that pace for 2 laps. Other cars I should be able to keep up with are turning 2:02 and 2:00 laps, which I don't dare try to match as I'm not sure I could do 1 lap at that pace. Under panels and fender liners are all in place. I thought about where my oil temp sensor is for my gauge, maybe it could be giving me a false reading but they match what the EcuTek ODBII interface shows me. Not sure what else I'm missing, or if the DROC just can't keep up. The thing is now, do I have to get the dedicated oil cooler and not use the oil cooler piece from the radiator or are the louvers going to help enough to keep the temps down? |

I run Verus hood vents + Jackson DROC+ edelbrock SC my max temps I saw at my the ridge and pacific raceways with 80s F ambient is 240. most of the time 230s. I only saw oil temps as high as 260/270 when I didn't have any oil cooler at all on my previous Series yellow. Even drifting which is lower speed and banging off the rev limit I was seeing 230s and maxing out at 240s.

Not sure if I should pick up a JRSC or sell car and buy a Cayman S. Anyone wanna chime in on their experience?

With JRSC, the car is almost the same power/weight ratio with Cayman. However, that does not mean it will match Cayman performance with just JRSC. Oil cooling, brakes, clutch (if manual), wheels, suspension, etc all need to be upgraded so that you can compare with a Cayman. You need to decide if you will enjoy doing all these upgrades/mods (it is hard work and sometimes frustration) and learn your car inside out. If you just want to enjoy driving and not worry about upgrades/mods, get the Cayman.
