They sell every kind of firework here, year round. There was so much going on here, it didn't even sound like fireworks. It was more like constant roar of thunder till about 1am.

Let's hope your surgery is successful and your recover quickly.

My take on general anesthesia is that while under, if things go horribly wrong, I will never know it -

So true.

Back in the 80's through early 90's I used to go to my Grandparent's home in KY (dairy/tobacco farm) every year for Independence Day. Since I lived in Virginia at the time (not fireworks sale) and was going to KY (also no fireworks sale), it was my job while in Tennessee to buy for the entire clan and bring the works where the cost was shared. It started small, a couple of hundred dollars worth.

Last time I did the transport it was about $4,000 (this would have been in 1991 I think). When you get to that level pretty much everything is at least BOGO, and they just throw cases of bottle rockets at you. It took us 2 nights to fire everything off and we still had stuff left they used for New Year's Day.

We decided that year we had a problem....

As we pulled into this medium sized town in the middle of nowhere, we just about didn't find a motel room. I ask the desk clerk, what the hell was going on -

He said it was the annual wheat harvest and the custom combiners were in town "harvesting" their way up north, as the wheat ripened.

Being raised on a farm, I should have know better -

In this area it's only legal to set off fireworks on Indian Tribal land. A part of Puyallup is on tribal land - however "people" expand the tribal land to include the whole damn town during the 4th of July.

If I got Honorary Canadian status on here just by flying to Canada so many times then you can get it for this easily!

I've been denied entry to Canada once. Took a wrong turn and ended up on a one way bridge, didn't have a passport.

Speaking of which, I have a back-in-the-day story from eariler today. I flew over Canada today basically over @Tcoat house (didn't touch the ground though... I'm not touching you.. I'm not touching you..) on my way to Glacier National Park in Montana from NYC. We actually had to stop for fuel in Minnesota because I fly a small 6 passenger jet lol. Anyway, it was worth it, check out the view over the Rockies in Northern Montana! Lots of people are flying private now trying to avoid the airlines. I guess I'm these times it's good to be busy.
