You mean the lack of the areo bits on the 2020 tS, right?

Ya use bad... You may not like the wing but it is part of the 2018's aero package along with the front spliter, side skirts and rear deflectors.

I have a 2018 tS, and my dad has a 2017 Series.Yellow which comes with the PP. I've noticed that when both are stock, the tS has better feel and turn in, and the stability control isn't as intrusive.

However, the biggest difference I've noticed is once you start to mod them.
If you put the coilovers and wider wheels/tires on the tS, it actually responds much better to the mods than a standard PP.
The tS draw stiffeners and flexible v-braces are a good match if you're running a more aggressive and grippier setup, and the stability control comes pre-tuned for a grippier setup than the regular PP.

So I'm going to go against conventional wisdom and say if you're planning on improving the handling, the tS is actually the better car to start with.

He means "my bad" as in "my mistake" or "my screw up" not that the wing is bad even if he thinks it is stupid.

Damn old guys don't understand modern slang.

I traded in my 2013 FRS for the 2018 BRZts because it had everything I wish my FRS had and it was all under warranty. The difference in handling was very noticeable and I’m a fan of the aero pieces that came with the 2018 ts.

Indeed, though I really don’t have problem with the wing per se. It serves an actual function so it’s fine. I’m just not a fan of how it looks, IMO.

This is more likely related to the rolling resistance of the tires. The Michelin Primacy HP tires that come on the standard trims have very low rolling resistance - they are also OEM on the Prius.

You'll notice a drop in MPG when upgrading to a stickier tire from the stockers.

The factory Michelin Pilot Sport 4 that come standard on 'tS' are significantly sticker than the Primacy HP's and have greater rolling resistance, which means less Miles per Gallon, but more Smiles per Gallon.

Is performance package same manufacturing year? Personally, I would prefer the '20 tS which is a newer model and has improvements in different areas. It is not just of changing the tires. If they could also make it lighter …

Does anyone have the part numbers for the STi Draw Stiffeners and Flexible V-Braces?
Tempted to put those on my 19' RS.

Edit: nevermind, I assume this is it on STi's website? https://www.sti.jp/en/parts/subarubr.../ST20118AS000/

Careful, I the draw stiffeners are different for Ts cars, they have a different subframe

Thanks for calling that out. I did some searching and found this thread.

You are correct that the 2018 tS draw stiffeners only fit the tS subframe. But interesting to know that the JDM STi draw stiffener is different and should fit regular Twins.

I can confirm I have the non-2018 STI draw stiffeners. I have the JDM 2013-2016 STI Draw Stiffeners on my 2016 and they mated up perfectly to the subframe
