That's my mistake. The recommended range is 20-50mm.

SS1 coilovers

Can you use the stock sway bar links on the front with these coilovers?

I’d be interested in this too. I’ve had a lot of issues with clearance of endlinks using Bilstein struts. Thinking about maybe trying the SS1s at some point.

My stock endlinks are a mess anyhow, rusted to hell and back and i ended up stripping the allen end so i am probably gonna have to get a set of aftermarket ones anyhow lol There was so much rust even after spraying and using a wire brush i could still barely get the allen in there.

Yes, I run stock endlinks on my car with SS1s and stock swaybars. Perfect fit.

With adjustable bars you might want adjustable endlinks.

I've been running track days all summer and I'm very happy with the RCE SS-1. It can pass the wife test on public roads, and still put down a hot lap at the track.

Got a set of these over a month ago but haven't quite gotten around to installing them just yet. I noticed this recommendation in the instructions and had a quick question about it...

"4.It is imperative that you do not damage the piston rod surface, through the use of pliers, etc. as even the smallest damage can result in seal damage, and will not be covered under warranty.A strap wrench is highly recommended to prevent the strut shaft from spinning. Wrap the strap wrench around the strut shaft twice for best results."

I'm sure I can get a strap wrench for this but I don't feel like buying one just to use it once. Is it absolutely mandatory to use one or is there another method I can use to install correctly? I assume this is to keep the rear strut pistons in place while installing the double tophat nuts to 15ft. lbs?

This is a common problem. I broke two strap wrenches trying to hold the shaft without damaging it. Instead, give the top nut four or five quick pulses with an air gun. This will minimize the shaft spinning, yet still tighten the nut.

Yeah, that is also common hack around i've seen suggested for other coilovers aswell. For exmple, here.

Yeah, I figured as much. The thought passed through my mind to use my impact but I guess I was worried that it might possibly strip due to how thin the bolt is/what little threading it has and not sure how soft the metal is. Alright, simple enough. I'll give that a try. Thanks!

I have a Perrin 22mm front bar paired with the SS-1s. I re-used some Whiteline KLC 180-195 end links, which were quiet for the first 1,000 miles and two autocrosses on old street tires. The springs must have taken a set, however, because the bar started contacting the body/pinch weld in the middle of a road trip.

What's Racecomp's recommendation for adjustable end links? I figured I would ask since it takes a bit of time to get the end links set up and clearanced properly.

i bought Racer x front end links but not sure if i got the wrong set shipped or not, even fully extended to the point of over extended with only a few threads holding they were 3/4 of an inch shorter than stock ones. i wasn't able to fit them on the SS1 front struts due to not long enough, not sure if its because i am on jack stands or not. i do have stock sway bar. i just sent them a message, its starting to look like its gonna be up on jackstands for another week.

You can drive the car with the swaybar disconnected... Slap one stock endlink on to make sure it doesn't flop around.

I lost a nut on an endlink, drove the car for three weeks (two autox events) before noticing when I swapped wheels and tires, totally explained the odd turn in behavior, I hit a few cones those events...
