That reminds me of my first mod, which I did the very next morning after bringing it home. I properly adjusted the hand brake. It can easily lock in 3 clicks.

I did a few mods to make the car more comfortable as a DD before digging into performance changes. That was the right course for me. A Cusco steering wheel, arm rest, improved dome light, Weathertech floor mats, a backup cam and Opti-coat for the black finish have all improved my driving experience. An OFT and a flash just to stock 93 was a big change and then to E85. I really think the stock 93 flash made more difference then E85, but I can't be sure.
When it gets cool enough here to head to Sebring, I have a Perrin oil cooler ready to go in, and I'll need an oil pressure/temp gauge. Pads, harnesses and track rubber should be about it. I won't mod the car any more till I see how it handles on track. I will say that heavier anti-sway bars generally make a big difference with no trade off of any kind. That would probably be my first, and maybe only, suspension mod. |

If I'm going by the first mods I ever did on the car, my absolute favourite from day one was my TRD exhaust - nice clean sound that was a definite improvement over stock. My worst/most useless mod at the beginning would have to be the TRD gas cap cover LOL. Thought it would add 10-15hp, but all it did was make me feel like I wasted $40 while filling up my race car every time....a mod I will only ever see when at the pump.

it's always the small things. best $ i have spent is wheel spacers to flush up the wheels. whenever I see a twin and the wheels are flushed up it looks really ugly to me. get some spacers or a set of wheels that do the job.

Best: sticky tires, MILD lowering springs, OFT EL E85
Worst: black aluminati shift knob bc it's hot AF and too slick. |

UPDATE
First off, I'd like to thank everyone for getting involved in this thread, I didn't think I'd get much response on my first post so thank you all. I went ahead with OFT, and holy shit, what a difference in drive-ability. I think everyone knows Stage 1 isn't going to blow minds, I was at first surprised it smoothed out the trq drop (Not completely I know) and wasn't expecting it the first few times, after a while now it feels normal. City driving, 1-2nd gear is so smooth in comparison and I bet I'm saving drivetrain wear because of it. I decided to put up or shut up and attended a local Autocross event this past Friday, had a freaking blast, got a little sideways, made a few mistakes, learned a few things, and did not crash my car so I feel great. Next mod, like advised by many on this thread, will be (not a mod I guess) going with the Indy 500's, considering I live in FL I can essentially run these year round from what I hear, and I can't wait to feel the difference at the Autocross events, which will be twice monthly if anyone is in SFL and interested @ PBIR. Thanks again to Everyone!

My new Indy 500s work very well in the Florida rain. I still haven't found somewhere to really test their high-speed cornering capability, but I suspect it's pretty good. Probably not as good, though, as my MPSSs were. |
