An old lady came up to me at the grocery story and said, "Cool car" as she was putting her basket away. Even with my giant wing hehe

Was getting into my car near a wealthy neighbourhood in Oakville when a father and son got out of their BMW. The father said 'My son loves your Ferrari' and I smiled and thanked him, saying 'It's a Toyota'

Even though its about 1/10 the price of a lower end Ferrari, it still made me feel like a boss I let the kid sit inside and the father asked how I like it compared to a Porsche 911, as he was thinking about getting a new Turbo. He still thought it was a $100k car after I told him what it was.

Another time last week, I came home and a few kids were playing road hockey in the street. They all asked me to rev it for them, which I did to them cheering. Two of them came up to my garage as I was getting out and they said 'Sir, when I grow up I want to have a nice car like you' - made my day!

I love the enthusiasm this car brings out in people and the random conversations.

I get a few mentions a week. My most notable run in was with kids in the street as well. Cool car, nice ride, and a request for a burnout. Not saying i did a burnout in a neighborhood, but i definitely had to get new tires anyways.

This car is more of a "boxer-dropper" than my old Miata.

One time, I was sitting at a restaurant waiting for my food. Then, a group of kids walk up to it and started taking pictures. When I got my food and got into my car as they were walking inside, I checked my rear view mirror and they wouldn't stop staring at it. Best feeling ever.

Just recently, I had some old guy come up to me while I was filling my car at a gas station and he couldn't speak English too well. He said oh that car is from a corolla. I laughed and said yea it's got DNA from an 86 corolla. He goes on his phone and shows me a photo of him posing beside his ae 86 corolla. He went on explaining to me how that car was dangerous yet so much fun. We stood there for more than an hour talking. I gave him my number and said that we should go for coffee sometime. Great guy! I wouldn't have met him had it not been for my baby !

I was leaving the local auto parts store today (Canadian Tire for all you Canucks). Got into my car, started it up. I was parked in front of a Caravan.

Looked out of my window just as I was about to pull out of my spot, and the driver of the Caravan (middle-aged white guy) was standing there gesturing at me to roll my window down, very obviously gawking at my car.

He says "Sorry! Is this really a Subaru??" (keep in mind my trunk is debadged minus the Subaru logo in the middle)

I say "yeah! absolutely!"

"What the heck is it?"

"It's called BRZ"

"Where's it from?"

"Um...Japan?"

"No I mean...is it sold here in North America??"

"Yeah absolutely! Since 2013!"

"Then why the HELL haven't I seen one before?? This is NICE man!!"

He proceeds to go on and ask me a few more questions (does it still have a flat 4? Is it AWD?) and I tell him a bit about how it's the mechanical twin to the FR-S and it's a joint partnership with Toyota yada yada yada before I had to politely cut him off to leave so that I wasn't late for work.

Nice to know that even in winter mode with my ugly steelies on, this car still snaps necks and gets attention like crazy!
