Looks like the A91 ECUs have been cracked now. The a91s base line higher like the MY17 vs MY13 but they both make the same power tuned.

That being said, I think they look amazing in person, and I really want one. You still get a terrific inline 6 engine. I mean heck, the McClaren F1 had a BMW heart.

Even if it had a 100% Toyota V6TT I reckon it would see more excitement. People wanted the 'JDM' legend to live on.

Yep, people wanted a new JDM legend and they got... a very competent and very quick sports car with an identity crisis.

I'm still on the fence about the new Supra. I wouldn't say no to one if you gave me the keys for free, but I haven't warmed to the styling or the 'BMWness' of the underpinnings. Dunno, maybe I just need to drive one to change my mind.

In fairness, the S70/2 V12 used in the F1 was a substantially redesigned version of the stock BMW M70 engine. The S70/2 had more displacement, was DOHC vs SOHC, revved higher, and had much more peak power than the regular variants in BMW vehicles. By contrast, the B58 in the Supra is basically the same one as in the Z4 and a few other BMW models. Still a great engine, but not as special - but then, the Supra is a sportscar, not a supercar, so we can forgive it.

My second thought is surprise that the ageing 370Z isn't far behind the brand new Z4 in sales. 11+ year old car vs a new one. Interesting. Looking forward to seeing if the 400Z can claw back some sales on the Supra.

I don't speak Spanish, but seemed there was something he didn't like about the Supra.

Can you blame em? Non dual-climate equipped early gen 1 cars look pretty ugly.

You meant to say "minimalist and functional," right?

NVM the cars. I want that sweet floor jack.
