Install
  1. Took me just under 3 hours, although I'm pretty mechanically inept. Now i've done it once pretty sure i could do it again in about an hour.
  2. The install is super easy and trouble free if you follow the instructions
  3. Hardest part was bringing harness/wiring through the firewall and setting up throttle switch
  4. Easiest part was tuning, used OFT + Shiv's Phantom SC tune.
  5. Need to spend some time organising cables and tying them down
  6. Make sure you follow the instructions

Super Pursuit Mode via switch next to center console

Using sound tube ties to keep wires away from over pipe

Initial driving impressions
  1. Wow, I can't describe the difference this makes. I must've been giggling like a little girl for the first 30mins of my initial drive, with various "OH S**T!" moments as i hit boost.
  2. Learned NOT to activate mid-corner, lots and lots of oversteer (which is fun)
  3. There's a little lag between activating the pedal switch and hitting boost. Suspect tweaking the throttle switch to activate at maybe 70% could help.
  4. Coming from a stock tune there's numerous improvements in Shiv's map that improve general drivability. Car just feels generally happier/smoother.
  5. 2nd gear pulls from 2K RPM are awesome, hitting what feels like peak boost between 3-4K. 5k+ you do feel the torque drop off a little.
  6. Heat. I tripped the fail safe twice. I need to fix this.
  7. I like the fact this kit removes the sound tube, reduces cabin noise/drone.

Props to Rob and everyone that were involved in developing the Phantom SC, its a complete no brainer for the price and install time. Purchasing this was probably the best decision I've ever made.

Expect another update next week once batteries have broken in and I've had some dyno time

Please leave, use the cable routing as per instructions. Early testers have slightly longer main cables due to the earlier 4kW controllers box exit. Routing the main cables along the fender may put to much strain on the cables exiting the control box.

Cheers! Rob.

The addition of the half pack adds about 7 to 10 HP and one you get the standard system wrote up it is a dead simple upgrade.

Both Rob and butang were very impressed with my cars torque with the oft tune and a dump and a half. The new found torque really makes the car fight for traction in first and second gear.... It is a great feeling.
That's awesome! I don't want to go through the hassle of relocating the battery.

Where is the extra half dump located? Any pictures?

And then when it is wired up it looks like this. Keep in mind my wires are not as long so we couldn't make it as neat as the production kit will allow.

Rob told me I'm 4th in line last week. Hopefully, I'll receive my ESC by the end of next week, just after I come back from NYC. With some time to break in the batteries before the Toronto meet in May.

Instead of dumping excess pressure the energy is stored in a set of caps by a controlled regen.

I'm definitely sold on this kit and will be purchasing within the next few months. I am just not sure how the single starter battery will hold up to my amplifiers. I'm pulling a decent amount of power when cranking my music. I have an amp powering a 12" sub and a 4 channel amp for 6 powerful speakers. At least a few hundred watts at any given time.

Will this affect the esc? Will the esc affect my stereo? Any experiences?

Anyone know how many amps the car pulls from the starter battery under load?
How many amps the stock alternator puts out?
How much I can pull from the starter battery?

I am also thinking about going ahead and getting the OFT now. Is there a stock tune I can take advantage of until I get the ESC? I feel like the tune just isn't right. I also have an abundant supply of e85 in my area..

You might be a good candidate for a battery relocation to the trunk. This would allow you to maintain the stock (or larger) battery. The added benefit is this configuration will also allow you to run two dump packs

Butang runs a stereo I believe. During recharge the ESC pulls 25A and the FRS alternator puts out 130A.

The OFT is a great device and until you get the ESC you can run their stage 1 e85 tune for more power over stock. That being said you could just run stock or standard stage 1 as well.
