I had a hooker in Waikiki say those exact words to me in 1982.

All seriousness, hope you find a job you like. I hated my job for 30 years, but did it for my family (best heath care with 2 special need children) and retirement.

If I had a job I loved, I would still be working, and probably much healthier both mentally and physically.

Noticed a new noise while driving in the past couple days... sounds like a ticking? Doesn't happen at idle or while holding the clutch. Most noticeable in 1st/2nd/3rd but I think I noticed it in 4th too. Doesn't seem tied to a specific speed as far as I can tell. Car seems to drive fine otherwise.

Any ideas? I just had 60k service done a couple weekends ago.

Sounds like crickets off throttle, is that what you are talking about?

Definitely not crickets, only ever noticed them while idling. This noise stops while idling.

Unfortunately my phone mic sucks. You'll hear it better with volume near maxed the second half or so of the video.

I was kidding. I can't tell what is going on with the recording.

So it does not tick when parked idling with clutch in or out?

Ticks only under power with clutch out? Goes away with clutch in while rolling?

And does the tick follow rpm?

Oh lol.

Yeah. It doesn't tick while parked, idling at a light. Doesn't tick if clutch in. If I'm rolling at 30mph and shift into neutral the noise stops while I coast.

I don't think it changes depending on rpm from what I can tell.

The last part really throws me off.

So, doesn't tick idling at light with clutch out in neutral.

Yep. Only in gear.

I could hear something, just not well defined enough to know what it was.

Yeah not easy to capture. It's definitely not one of the many noises that I've grown used to over the years.

I contacted the shop that did my 60k service and they're gonna squeeze me in tomorrow afternoon.
