Series 10 - Still worth buying new?

I see that there are still dozens of Series 10 cars available around the country.

Some dealers seem to be offering as much as $4K off the original MSRP.

Is this still a good version to pick up, especially at a discount? Or should I run away from something that's been sitting on the dealer lot for two years?

My base model 13' was on the lot for a little more than a year, I drove past it a lot on my way to work....couldn't pass up the price when I told them I just wanted to buy it and lets make a deal today.

More for the same price or even potentially less? This shouldn't even be a question.

Do it - the 10 series should hold its value well. It's the only FRS model that offers much more amenities aside from the Monogram series (or BRZ). and for $4k off...it's a no brainer. You can always part the 10 series parts if you don't like them down the line.

The only question is: do you love the exterior color?

I love my 10. Can't beat all the extra options especially for the same or less than the base model. You don't know how awesome it is to have the Smartkey and Auto Climate Control until you have it. It's WONDERFUL.
The fact that it has the 2014 Bespoke unit rather than the shitbox 2013 unit is enough to sell the car, though.

Go for it. Any issues from sitting will need to be covered by them under warranty right? It may be two model years old but there aren't two model years worth of miles on the car

Hell yeah its worth it. Its a limited edition FRS. I don't see them on the lots here anymore. I think you have to like the color though. Take a look at it in person, drive it and see how you like it.

I think it's one of the best paint codes to ever come from Toyota. It gives the car an exotic look. I love it.

Obviously all of us that have a 10 series are biased. The paint color is just so multifaceted, although it isn't for everybody. I got mine for $4k off back in April, so they may be willing to go lower... The 10 series may also still be the only way to get the push button start w/o leather seats on any 86 in the USA, unless RS 1.0 is cloth...

Also, most dealers move every car on their lot more than once a month, so it's not like the car has just been sitting there crumbling into the pavement.

My car is awaiting repairs of $13k in hail damage and I still proudly drive it every day...

I had option between monogram and 10 series. My dealer was offering $2000 off of 10 series. I personally choose monogram for 3 reasons. 1) Monogram has Nav 2) Monogram has Leather heated seat 3) Real spoiler. Also 10 series at my dealer were all automatic.
