If you want reliability...Edelbrock supercharger or Jackson Racing. With Edelbrock you can use an authorized installer and get a warranty of sorts. Check out the forum section or Google Edelbrock and see the kit. As near to OEM as you are going to see.

Yes, the power will be limited by about 90+ hp or so, it really depends what you want. Most say up to 300 HP is relatively safe, before supporting mods and internals need to be included.

I would say 400hp at the crank is kinda the margin of safety anything over that the risks go way up from what I have seen. E85 is also a good option for power and will save the OP a ton of money if he/she is only looking for 30hp or so

Thanks all for the input! I have looked into the supercharger also but I feel I want the power from the turbo. I wish I could get e85 but my area has VERY few stations that have it which is weird because in Louisiana oil and gas pretty much runs the economy and it's my profession.

I'm brand new to the mod scene and no one around me really messes with it. My warranty is up so I felt its time to start. Just trying to find a starting point. I don't understand much as of right now but been doing research.

That's no strictly true - you can get more power than this by building the engine and dropping pulley sizes with a supercharger (e.g Harrop are running ~420whp on their kit with e85) although agreed that it's diminishing returns with a supercharger and for big power a turbo makes sense.

Turbo people seem to have more heat issues though. Not to mention all the drivetrain issues with going above ~400whp

And there is also the argument about how much power you need in this car. Is the difference between having 350whp and 450whp going to be transformative in performance terms? I doubt it. The only situation I could see >350whp being needed would be if you are getting in to 'highway pull' races against other powerful cars.

I would like to get around 300-350whp. The heat issues is what I'm worried about, being in Louisiana we barley have a winter.

I was referring to as-is. Yes, if you make further mods, then much higher outputs are possible.
