I am not sure which back Showa damper you refer.
The new one looks red body for me.

I heard that STI ts damper also made by Showa and curious those
two are same or not.
Thanks.
The dampers are showa. The springs are different, which I have. Its sold as a set

Black as in the ones that come with the car stock.

The tS damper is silver and design is based on the Showa evolution line. It's not red because why would STI simply take something off the shelf, leave it the way it is in appearance and sell it to you (that would go against their marketing of proprietary tuning).

I'm curious as to the difference in handling between stock 2013/2014 and 2015. I wonder if they've made the car more tamed (like late model SW20 and AP2). "Improved handling" should really be "different / revised handling", they obviously can't write "improved handling for street use" because then the racecar ricers like me would think that's weak sauce.

Also, If they follow a similar formula as to the AW11 MR2, then we will probably see an engine option by 2016 that would shift the powerband towards the mid range to be more street friendly (like 4AGZE supercharged vs 4AGE n/a).

I'm still glad Subaru & Toyota decided to give us the same JDM FA20 engine globally to save on development cost.

If they did a FA25 or supercharged FA20 with a lower redline as the only choice for North America, then armchair forum junkies would shit on it for not having a stronger top-end like JDM (EJ20 vs EJ25 on the WRX STI).

IMO SWP looks a lot better than CWP but I guess it depends what type of white you are going for. The CWP is a lot more pure white but I like the hue to the SWP due to the property of satin paint.

Not sure if SWP is the same as Whiteout. If it is, SWP might as well be yellow if you think CWP is beige.

Here are the latest details about the suspension. It is for the GT86, but these changes should be same in all versions:

It looks like the change related to the suspension is more than the list
as below. (Bolt& Shock Absorber)

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...9&postcount=48

It also wrote "New suspension mounts, and using lower-friction oil, oil seals and guide bushings, have decreased body roll and increased handling stability" in the article.

Any idea what part number for those which potentially we also can
upgrade by ourselves without buying 2015 model?

Thanks.

Since 2015s are on their way to the showrooms, how much less should I expect to pay for a 2014 leftover?

I got mine 2 months ago here in Dallas and it was $1800 off of sticker (2014 limited) and then they took off a little more so it ended up around $26,500.

Pretty sure this is referring to the internals of the new rear dampers.

I picked up a limited here in CO on Monday that had been sitting in their showroom for about 3 months for $26,000 ++

Thanks guys! There's a 14 SSM Limited at a local dealer. If I get $26k, I'll take it.

I've taken both the 2013/2014 and 2015 near and over the limits and I can definitely confirm the 2015 has more level cornering. The 2015 susp. is definitely better at keeping the tire contact patch to the road. Something very easy to feel given how easily it was to slip in the 2013/2014 with the stock tires. Also 2015 seems to have slightly better turn in, and easier to throttle oversteer, which is something I really like. A quick lane change at speed manuever is much more settled than the old susp - better rebound characteristics. And everything is still more comfy than a Cayman when running over bump. Cayman is like boom boom smack smack, although the super nice fluffy Porsche seats help absorb the impacts.

Bottom line is that if I had gone with a 2013/2014, I definitely would have switched the suspension - almost but just not quite there. Whereas with the 2015, I am totally happy with the susp. as a street and maybe occasional track car. It's an incremental improvement, but it's just really dialed in. And I did not feel that way with the 2013/2014.

The possible bad part is that the 2015 susp. is so dialed in that I don't want to change anything like lower it. But lowering is kinda dumb and a PIA around where I live and work.

If you read up on the marketing description on the chassis and suspension parts from the STI Performance catalog (flexible tower bar, flexible draw stiffener, lowered springs, pillowball arms for the rear suspension), the purpose of all those parts together is to pretty much achieve exactly what you described on the stock 2015. Saved you $2000 bucks right there.
