Coworker & I was talking about cars. He's new to car stuff and didn't get the difference between hp & tq... I had hard time explaining it, so I send him this vid. I think, it give a good comparison between hp & tq.

I average over 6K between oil changes since out of warranty.

very simple.

horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.

torque is how far you drag the wall with you

I always understood it as hp is how fast you got to the wall and torque is made by pork

The talk about agent Orange reminded me of something. Remember this photo? I was real young when it was plastered everywhere. Fast forward to about 1989. A co-worker, a Vietnamese guy with about 35 years on me (who really liked me and helped me a lot as a kid out of college), invites me to a dinner in Chinatown San Francisco. A big Vietnamese celebration. The party was awesome. Then, my co-worker comes to me and says he has someone I should meet. It was the officer with the gun in the picture. When asked, he answered every question I had. It was incredible.

Hey @humfrz, seems my long term memory is kicking in. Is the end near?

Btw, the guy with the pistol was a cousin of my co-worker, and a business man in SF.

Anscombe's quartet comprises four data sets that have nearly identical simple descriptive statistics, yet have very different distributions and appear very different when graphed. Each dataset consists of eleven (x,y) points. They were constructed in 1973 by the statistician Francis Anscombe to demonstrate both the importance of graphing data when analyzing it, and the effect of outliers and other influential observations on statistical properties. He described the article as being intended to counter the impression among statisticians that "numerical calculations are exact, but graphs are rough."
