BRZ makes the top 10 for fatal accidents!
Not sure if this is old news, but the BRZ makes it in at #6 on a distinguished list of cars in which you're more than twice as likely to die in.
https://www.iseecars.com/most-dangerous-cars-2019-study Not completely surprised since there's probably a lot doing stupid stuff in our cars. I was also gonna say driving too fast, but our cars aren't fast. Combine this with drivers who may be a little younger and less experienced. There is also heavy car vs light car which isn't really in our favor. We also lose out on high car vs low car. I'm sure those are all factors since reading further reveals that the BRZ was "above average across all crash test categories." Well, have fun with that. |

In the words of some engineer from Ferrari talking about how frail the chassis seemed

I would have thought that all the extra spoilers, lips, diffusers, ground affects, body cladding, and rocket bunny crap would give a lot of extra cushion and protection to most of our cars. I guess not. |

This list does not bode well for the compact coupe segment.

Oddly enough, the list does not include the FRS or GT86. Hmmmmmm...

It made the because the type of person driving this platform is far more likely to drive faster and take risks and also be pretty stupid. A large portion of the owners base I think are young privileged kids who everyone knows are stupid as F. Because they didn't have to work hard to earn their car they then treat it like shit, take risks and get people or themselves killed. I've seen quite a few twins being driven by asshats and all I can do is shake my head in disappointment. They make us all look like flat brimmed hat vaping tards who stance and crash our cars. When in reality most folks who have the car over 4 years are responsible adults who don't do dumb things to endanger others or themselves.
Safety feature is the predictability and agile nature of the car. I have avoided some nasty crashes by narrowly avoiding them on the freeway thanks to this cars agile handling. Also avoided crashes with just how fast this car can stop when called upon. Other than that, be careful and be wary of crazy ass drivers that might run into you. |

Nope still odd. If the car (or the owners as some would like to blame) are the problem the frs or 86 should still make the list. There was an almost 8 to 1 ratio of them sold between 2013 and 2017. The small impact of the 17 should not have changed the numbers in any significant way. The FRS should have made the list.

You can always make numbers read however you want them to.
I was t-boned while driving my BRZ last year. The car was totaled. But I didn't have any bruises or aches from the impact, even after a week. Can't speak to others' experiences, but the BRZ did a good job of 'cushioning' me during the accident. |

..... and you'll still be more likely to die in a car than in a plane.
