I have a DW300 already, so I was looking at the options at either buying the module and buying another pump, or just buying the one with the included pumps and selling one of them, which at the discount I got, works out to not being too bad.

I’ll do a -6AN feed and return line with a Radium FPR. I don’t know if it is necessary to do an inline filter beyond the in pump filters. I’ll have to see which fittings I’ll need to run the return from the middle port. I think it is the same -8AN ORB. If I thought ahead I would have bought the integrated FPR and fuel pulse damper. Oh well. If I have clearance issues then I will do an inline versus something off the rail. I can always move the damper to the rear and run the feed off the front. We will see.

Got any pics and part numbers for your fuel pressure sensor? I mainly am looking for a tee setup that I trust under pressure as light reading says vibrations from it being correctly connected to the rail may be bad?

This is what I got. It is just T'd into a brass port inline with the feed line about four inches away from the rail. This was fine for what Shawn requested.

When I finish the setup, I think I will be using the two ports on the regulator for the sensor and for the gauge, and the return will go off the back of the rail from the bottom of the regulator. The damper will get a -8AN ORB T and a feed will go to the front. I'm not going to mess with the center port.

Perfect. When swapping injectors the other day I tested to see if my Deatschwerks fuel damper would fit at the center port of the rail. It sits nice and tidy in there so now I can just add the sensor at the end of the rail. My tuner said he's rail mounted them a bunch of times and wasn't worried about vibes killing it. I'll go the easy route on this one and see how it goes. Luckily AV1 is wide open for me so wiring will be pretty easy.

Thanka for testing that! That is a big help. If it mounts there then I can simplify my setup. Crossing my fingers that my Radium one clears too!

The DW damper is considerably smaller than the Radium one you have but I think there is some extra room. I'll snap a pic or two and post in a bit.

Looks like the FPD-R dimensionally looks to be the same as my DW one. Unfortunately I don't think there's room for the FPD-XR.

That’s what I remembered. I didn’t think it would fit.

I think I could use this. I’ll do the FPD and feed off of this off the front. On the backside, I’ll do the FPR with the gauge and pressure sensor. It should all fit.

Here is a list of the fuel system components (lengths are the exact lengths, and I bought extra hose length just in case). I'm not entirely sure if the stock wiring harness is sufficient or if I will need to change the gauge of the wire. I hope not:

Tech Sheet
Installation Guide

I used Racetronix for my fittings and hoses, except for the banjo fittings, which I got on Summit, and I got a few extra feet of fuel line. In fact, I got 12' of the 8AN and had 4' extra, and I bought 15' of the 6AN and had 6' extra, so buy at your own risk. Lengths below are the rough lengths needed.

DW300c Dual Fuel Module
-8AN ORB to -8AN Radium low profile 90 degree banjo adapter
-6AN ORB to -6AN Radium low profile 90 degree banjo adapter

Feed line from Module to Filter
-8AN PTFE straight hose end fitting at module
-8AN PTFE SS Conductive Black Hose...5' (Total needed overall is 8' + extra)
-8AN PTFE straight hose end fitting at filter

DW external fuel filter for -8AN (8-03-110-010K-8)
-Comes with 2x -8AN ORB to -8AN fittings, so don't buy these

Feed line from Filter to Rail
-8AN PTFE straight hose end fitting at filter
-8AN PTFE SS Conductive Black hose...3' (Total needed overall is 8' + extra)
-8AN PTFE 90 degree hose end fitting at rail

Kpower -8AN fuel rail (Front)
-8AN ORB to -8AN ORB adapter
-8AN Tee female adapter
-Radium Direct Mount FPD -8AN
-8AN ORB to -8AN feed adapter

Kpower -8AN fuel rail (Rear)
-Radium Direct Mount FPR -8AN ORB feed side to -6AN return side (Comes with optional 90 degree -8AN ORB female to -8AN ORB female adapter)
-Fuel pressure sensor 1/8 NPT
-Fuel gauge 1/8 NPT

Return line from FPR to Flex Fuel Sensor
-6AN PTFE straight or 45 degree hose end fitting from FPR
-6AN PTFE SS Conductive Black Hose 2-3'... (Total needed overall is 9' + extra)
-6AN PTFE 180 degree hose end fitting at FFS

Flex Fuel Sensor
-3/8 Quick Connect to -6AN adapters (x2)

Return line from Flex Fuel Sensor to module
-6AN PTFE 45 degree hose end fitting at sensor
-6AN PTFE SS Conductive Black Hose 6-7'... (Total needed overall is 9' + extra)
-6AN PTFE 90 degree hose end fitting at module

These are two calculations for pressure drop from -8AN versus -6AN feed lines, which is why I ultimately went with the -8AN feed. This should support future power upgrades.

Today I installed the replacement wastegate WITH the fire ring this time. Since my dump tube bypasses the cat (only way it would fit...I'll do a V3 eventually), the exhaust passing through the wastegate valve constantly caused more noise than one might guess. Moving from the high-flow cat to the stock cat did a lot for improving the sound, but this reduced the noise another twenty percent when idling and probably more on decel. Overall, the sound is much smoother, and the car seems to drive smoother and have less NVH.

Car is hitting boost perfectly.

Turbo is spooling noticeably faster, as it should have. This was to be expected. It was more linear before, but now it is just off then on. I'm interested to see how the dyno's will compare once I have a chance to dyno the car after I get a better transmission in this thing. The plans are CD009 swap and dyno to about 450whp. Axles, diff, built motor in the future, and a bigger turbo, if it makes it that far.

The fuel system has been ordered. Just waiting for parts to come in and then I will install everything early January.

I'm always impressed at how sorted your build is.

There's so many half-assed engine swaps out there it's nice to see one where the odds & ends are being continuously taken care of & improved.

Been considering doing a second gen transmission and clutch upgrade and then going for more power over doing a CD009/T56 or whatever Kpower comes up with. I’m debating what I’ll really need. Obviously if I go crazy with a built motor someday then I will need the CD009, or if I track the car, but the stock second gen transmission might be fine handling my daily needs at 450-500whp.

I’ll have to wait for a price on a swap kit, and I could recover some money selling the aluminum driveshaft, adapter, flywheel, trans mount, shift arm, but I’m thinking a second gen transmission and clutch kit would probably be sub $2k, so I’ll have to weigh the benefits of doing things in stages or all at once. I’m assuming a full CD009 swap plus clutch kit and hydraulic TOB (if that is needed) would be $5k+. There is more reliability, but I will not be able to take advantage of its potential until I do a built engine with larger injectors. Transmission, engine and tune will be lots more $$$$.

We will see. On another note, I have the dual pump and FPR in. I’m just waiting on lines and fittings.

I'm still curious to see a teardown of a 2nd gen box to see if they've fixed the AZ6 forever 4th gear issues before I spend the money on one.

Apparently thicker 4th, shot peening on the gears and upgraded syncros. I’ve seen threads where people were making 500whp on the first gen transmission, while others are destroying them with OEM horsepower on the track, so it makes me unsure what really breaks these transmissions. I’m not tracking the car, and I don’t hard launch the car or anything resembling drag racing. I can do boost by gear. A little turbo lag can lessen some stress compared to downshifting with a supercharger.

Prices seem to be dropping on used second gen transmissions. I’ll be wanting to do a swap this summer, so I have time to make a decision, but maybe in another six months we will have some FI and track data on how strong they are.

The other factor is the clutch. Most aftermarket clutches for the 86 platform use custom flywheels, so that seems to limit clutch options. I’m not sure which clutch is available for the stock flywheel that can hold 350-400wtq. I may need to do a CD009 or whatever just to get into a more serious clutch.

Southbend clutches use stock flywheel. I have the Stage 3 daily, so far it's holding close to 300wtq so far, it will be turned up shortly so we'll see how it likes north of 350
