It's intentional. Sometimes I don't get a big enough blip on the downshift so when I go to throttle I blend the clutch in a bit slower till the RPM's are closer to blending with wheel speed.

I think my MX experience makes me less hesitant to abuse the clutch if I need to

Did we ever talk about that? I used to race open class but even then was still too tall. Feathering the clutch is a whole different ballgame. That's advanced technique.

I think you had mentioned it before.

Sometimes I find when going to maintenance throttle it is easier to feed in clutch and gauge the response as opposed to release it and bring in enough throttle to match rpm/wheel speed. If I could get the blip right every time I wouldn't have to do that but there is a lack of consistent coordination of the device between the seat and pedals sometimes.

That's where light flywheels come in handy. I love a nice crisp throttle blip.

A lot of SCCA's rules are sad and dumb. Some of them are written with good intent, but the opposite outcome. The FB group for SCCA TT is hilarious for it's amount of whining.

Why can't we have splitter ramps in max GTA gets splitter ramps in its equivalent class

Lightweight flywheel just bogs faster. It's a trade-off. Getting blips right becomes more important.

There is a reason for every rule too. It addresses a perceived problem and tries to be reasonably platform agnostic. That's not to say they're always as good as they could be but...

TT rules are a mess too. STX legal but not T4 legal because of steering rack bushings?! T4 requires same material as OE or something weird.

I am probably overly annoyed by the way the rules affect me is all. I get they are trying to balance a shit load of different platforms in the same class but the rules are almost too complex now. I know they are trying to keep costs under control to keep it "grassroots" but with enough money you can work around the rules. I am TT Max 3 now due to stiffer valve springs since it is an internal engine mod. All I want is no rocker arm ejecto.

Most TT/TA rules are a bit of a mess. GTA's is an absolute joke. A "street class" car in GTA is a gutted K24 swapped turbo NSX, my car would also be street class because I have 2-way dampers The next class down is like they looked at the street class rulebook and took a handful of things away and said "good enough", we also bestow upon you 220TW tires
