Unhappy NEED HELP

Hi sorry for necro thread..

But I just done with installing the TRD Oil Temp gouge, and connected the wiring as the OP did (but I still go the stereo, so i mounted the gauge itself on a different location)

And when I connected the power, the gauge boot up, "reving" the needle, all lights are on and look epic, then the needle go down to 50, and the white lights shut down, then the red light in the arrow shut down, and then it's dead...

I tried when car was on idle, disconnected the plug, that are connected to the gauge itself, and then reconnected it, and it did the same procedure then died again...

So wth can I do to fix this ?

Update: It was just a bad connection for the acc (ignition!) and a bad conmnection for dim, but found the issue, so all good now!

This thread helped me out with my install of these gauges so I thought I'd add my two cents. I wanted to keep my head unit so I did a custom install onto the dash panel. The panel I used was the Blitz Racing Meter Panel (only available in RHD) but there are plenty of companies that make LHD versions.

I also didn't use the sandwich plate to mount the sensors, as I wanted an oil cooler without double stacking sandwich plates and causing a leak. I mounted the temp sensor in the Oil Galley using an OEM Subaru WRX oil galley plug, which has a 1/8th PT threaded sensor hole in it already. I mounted the pressure sensor at the OEM low pressure sensor location, using a relocating pipe with a T fitting at the end. Works very well. Thanks to the OP for the wiring guidance, I wired it into the back of the head unit for power and functionality.

Anyone have the mounting hole diameter size and the face dial size of the TRD gauges? Or maybe the install instructions? Thanks!

They are 60mm gauges. All the TRD installation instructions are on this website (in japanese) just look for the relevant part numbers:

I may of misunderstood the question, but they don't plug in anywhere.

May I suggest you go to page one of this thread where I explain in detail the colours of the wires you need to tap into and even show a picture of the wiring you need to access.

Each gauge has a small white plug in the back of it which the loom plugs into.

If you have just bought gauges without the wiring looms, then you are going to have problems!

All the best...

Warning level reset?

Awesome thread! Only problem I have is that my warning level keeps resetting each time I turn the car off. Is this normal? I don't want to reset my warning level every time before driving.

You probably didn't wire the Hot/Always on power correctly. The gauges need one set of wires directly connected to an always live circuit to save the memory.
