Damn, I was hoping that might solve it. Appreciate the heads-up though, saved me from ordering gold foil.

Update: After replacing the coil pack on Cyl #2 TWICE now, I received a P0302 and P0300 multiple times throughout the day at Sebring this past weekend (Cyl # 2 and random misfire code). No noticeable hesitation, stumbling or performance decrease though.

Before the CEL came on with those two codes and stayed on, I had the CEL flashing for the first few laps in only a few spots on the track - just before the braking zones at Turn 17, Turn 7 and Turn 10, where I had sustained higher RPMs in a higher gear.

For those of you who are receiving the same code after replacing the coil pack, have you checked/replaced the spark plug in that cylinder? I think that will be my next step, as I was talking to a top notch Subaru engine builder and tuner about the issue, and he informed me that a bad plug in that cylinder could possibly be creating high resistance under heavy temps, causing the coil pack to fail (and then ultimately a misfire code).

That's going to be my next step, I'll report back with updates.

Cylinder #2 is probably in the coolest spot in terms of proximity to the header, so I can't imagine it's heat killing the Cyl #2 coil pack. I'll probably end up wrapping the header and then putting DEI cool tape on the coil packs to help with longevity.

I had the same issue at Sebring several times. I ended up getting a vented hood to try to get some of the heat out of there. I also wrapped the header and I also placed a heat blanked above the header where it comes below the right side of the engine. (DEI Heat Shield)
At the same time I changed all 4 spark plugs and the coil that pulled a code.

That was the beginning of this year and I have not had any misfires in 3 or 4 track events at Sebring. My current assumption is that the stock plugs are the weak link in the ignition system for heavy track use. I've read a few people have upgraded the coil packs but are still suffering from the same symptoms.

I'm currently looking at upgrading the plugs to something more appropriate for the track use.. Looking at the HKS set and looking at some Denso Racing applications, waiting for Denso to get back to me with the info for our application.

Has any one tried reducing the spark plug gap a little so the coils aren't working as hard?

Changed the passenger front coil today after getting a recurring P0351 code at the track. Was annoying because of how little space there is, but after a couple of cuts on my knuckles, it's done. Took me a little time to find the release tab on the connector (it's at the back towards the wire). Redlined a few gears and no more code. Always a good feeling when the car is running strong.

Where do I get new ignition coils? My cay car started getting P0351 code. I feel like I forgot how to use the Internet, because I haven't been able to find them online.

Any dealership will have them. The part number ends in 652 and is posted on this thread.

There are two earlier part numbers ending in 650 then 651 so something had to have been changed. I'm wondering if running the typical exhaust and tune mods, specifically the timing advance warrant a colder rated plug.

Did you buy oem ones? Or did you buy some aftermarket ones

Just read through the entire thread, lots of good info. I have a 2013 FR-S 40,000 miles and i just got the CEL
and my bluetooth OBDII scanner indicates Ignition Coil A. I have no mods but its about 115 degrees where i live.
My dealer is charging a lot for the install. Do you guys have any good suggestions where i can buy a coil online for a 2013?
For some reason i'm not finding it searching. I'm concerned if i buy a 2015 part the design may have changed. Well i'm gonna try
to tackle this project soon seems simple enough. Just my observations...i have this problem on hot days at WOT otherwise the car behaves normal.
