The BRZ/FRS/86 can pass cars like a motherF'er

provided you actually know how to drive.

Let's use this thread to show prospective buyers that the 86 can leave other cars in the dust, when correctly dropped into the upper ranges.
It will also teach current owners who do not understand how to downshift ...how this works.

Please post dashcam clips that demonstrate correct passing. I'll post one in the next day or two.

Actually, most any car is capable of passing other cars on the highway, it's when the car you're trying to pass also puts the pedal down where it becomes very clear just how slow the twins are.

10/10 though, great thread for sure.

True that, but if people are gonna be ****s, they're gonna be ****s. If they have 270HP and are preventing you from passing, most likely they'd do the same if we had 240hp. You need 400hp to really be MUCH faster than most things on the road... that's mustang GT territory. Fun car to drive but not really comparable to the twins.. kind of more of a pickup truck feel... though i've yet to drive the newest gen.

can confirm mustang vs driving this totally different experience.

the mustang is like mashing the gas and holding on to a bolting horse while the frs is like feeling as if you are part of the car itself on the road.

Third in any situation involving remotely legal speeds. Practice staying north of 4500 RPM. If you're not a double-clutcher, row your way down to third. (clutch in, 5-4-3, rev up, clutch out) Do not go straight 6-3 unless you have zero respect for mechanical things.
