It's not a scanner program. It's more for adjusting options on the car. For instance, I used mine to turn off the seatbelt buzzer, turn off the light auto-off delay, turn off the alarm chirp when armed, and set the keyfob so unlock 1 time opens both doors. I believe you can also sync up new TPMS' as well as a host of other options.

Toyota TIS techstream V10.30.029 tested working fine

Toyota TIS techstream V10.30.029 is tested working fine with Xhorse MINI VCI cable, Xhorse MVCI and Mangose cable for Toyota. Anyone need just download from http://www.chinaautodiag.com/html/mi...nload-223.html.

I have one Xhorse MINI VCI USB cable from http://www.uobdii.com/wholesale/mini...able-2442.html and used it for 4-5 times, it working fine for almost 1 year, and yesterday download techstream V10.30.029 to update.

techstream V10.30.029 installation is a little different from the former version, it need not to active since the supplier contains a txt document with the key to register.
I install techstream V10.30.029 with only sever steps:
1) Install TOYOTA TIS Techstream V10.30.029
2) Install MCVI driver
3) Copy "Mainmenu" application, right click the gray icon "Techstream", click "Properties" - "Find Target", then paste the "Mainmenu" application to replace the existing file.

4) Connect the device to the vehicle and then install driver!

5) Open the icon "Techstream" on the desktop, please note you shoule select area "Europe"

6) When you click "Connect to Vehicle", it pops up a window about "Register Techstream Software) and it asks for a new key, click "Cancle". Go to open the folder "Toyota techstream 10.30.029", open text document "Serie" and copy the key number in it, and paste it into the blank key after "New key" and click ok, register successfully.

7) Diagnose Toyota vehicles.

Done!
Hope it helps!

I end up buying the cable from aliexpress - installed the app on my comp - did couple of twiks in the the process and successfully updated all Customizable settings in both my toyotas: Camry Hybrid and FR-S.
Made the sound of locking car more loud (with 3 pushed on remote lock button car makes 2 loud buzzes and one horn beep).
Changed to open trunk with 2 quick clicks on remote.
Silenced the front occupant seat alarm (decided not to silence driver side).
DRL decided not to turn off - but turned it off on Camry.
On Camry change the settings of open/close doors - now with long push on open button - window is rolling down.
Also, when driver door get unlock via remote access - all doors got unlocked.

Anyway, I like it and if anyone needs help in Sacramento area - shoot me PM, we might meet and I can customize your GT-86.

Thank you everyone for a very informative thread.
I have the cable with the 2.0.4 firmware, I got it to connect once but on the second time I started getting a Can't connect to vim error, the firmware update tool still sees the cable, I have tried on different computers, firmwareupdate connects to it and the TIS software let's select xhorse but I get the vim error.

VIM error is because the mvci software (toyota,honda...) will both communicate with MVCI hardware, and interrupt Techstream working.

Solution 1:
Restart laptop.
open Techsream, click “Setup”, then “Techstream configuration”.
Select “Area Selection”, get a country list and then select “Europe”.
Select “Default Language Selection” and choose “English”.
Click “Ok” in the next window.

Solution 2:
Install MVCI software and drive on a desktop with Windows XP system.
Run Techstream separately.

so that's why most people use mini vci cable with toyota software only.

FIY, latest techstream goes to V10.30.029
