"That V12 Miata Bruh" Turbo kit

Discovered this kit when YT suggested I watch the V12 Miata build.
Looks interesting and comprehensive. Just wanted to make a thread to see if other people have noticed and want to discuss it. Not sure how the Garrett G25 compares/what's comparable to a BorgWarner EFR series turbo.

Price: $5.5k
  • Option to choose between EL and UL Manifold
  • 290HP (stock block and fuel system) @ 6psi with Garrett G25-660
  • 6 Port Vacuum distribution block
  • Oil Catch can
  • -10 AN Oil cooler/filter relocation
  • Bumper crash beam
  • Intercooler
  • Setrab oil cooler
  • 4 Port Boost Solenoid
  • 3 Bar MAP sensor
  • BMC Air Filter

Parts, install

Pulls, parts

That dyno graph is giving the G25 series a bad look IMO. The old GT25 series did great on 1.8Ls like the 2ZZ-GE, but always started to choke out as you climbed past 6.5K, 7K. These newer small turbos, especially a 660, should not be losing that much torque at 5K, and definitely shouldn't be dropping off a cliff towards the top. They're all around equivalent or better than the GTX28 you see in most kits, and should spool earlier.

EDIT: I think I misread the graph due to colors. If one run is one color, the torque band looks much nicer and the torque/power curves make way more sense than what I saw at first glance.

I want to see their next round of revisions or what a tuner like CSG or Drift Office could pull out of that kit. The GT25 is perfectly suited to our cars. Great spool on the low end, and good flow characteristics makes for a nice wide power band.
