Charge coolers
Has anyone installed a killer cooler (or similar system) on our cars, id like to pick your brain.
For those unfamiliar they are an intercooler system tied to your AC system to cool your charge temps. |

I have not, but I believe the Dodge Demon has such a setup. The WRX STI has used a water spray on the intercooler to cool that down. People squirt nitrous on intercoolers too, so there are many options out there. How effective they are depends on the system and the conditions. Obviously they are effective, or they wouldn’t exist, but they are usually to maximize power during a race or pass situation. I believe some cars have a F1-similar over-boost setup for when a little extra power is desired.

I would think a simple intercooler mister would be a lot easier. Make sure it's misting, not spraying a ton of water on the intercooler.

Most cars today turn off the AC compressor when in WOT. When normal running there is a substantial parasitic load from the AC. I guess there might be a benefit to precooling the unit but that would not last very long.
