I'm almost embarrassed to say my commute is now 3.8 km.

I have to go out of my way to get the car warmed up.

I had actually wrote this car off a long time ago but if they can sell it for anywhere near what the 370Z is selling for then they will once again have my attention.
And all of those competitors can be had with a manual.

Until fairly recently, I was always a "It is gotta have a clutch pedal" guy. I do not know whether I am getting too old or whether I just recognize and accept the inevitable. Most modern racecars are now paddle shift. Most exotics are paddle shifters. New automatics now shift faster and provide better performance than even the most adept manual gear rower. Many new performance cars are just flat out faster without the manual.

I have accepted that sports cars no longer need a clutch pedal to be fun.

Yeah, no manual feels like a totally boneheaded decision. Maybe that'll be the "GIVE US A TURBO" gripe for the Supra buyers over the next 6 years lol.

Making it manual only makes it seem like a Lexus.

Also this car only has 15 hp over the 25 year old MKIV, which is kind of disappointing. I wonder if the engine will respond to more boost as well as the 2JZ did.

Fixed that for you. Remeber this is Toyota so it'll probably be a CVT.

Nah, some of the true autos are that good too. Look at the Camaro ZL1 and the Corvette. Those are not DCT but they are a track worthy version automatic transmission.

I would be fine with an automatic version of either of those along with a lot of other current performance cars. I doubt Toyota will go DCT (or CVT....lol).

That's my commute distance to work now too. I just keep it in 3rd gear to get warmed up.

I keep thinking this no manual gearbox option is a BMW decision?

Still not sure if I like the huge schnoz. The rear end and side profile look really nice though.
