Seriously though, each of these three cost more than any of the 1/24 plastic models kits I'm making! They're highly detailed though, so I can't complain. haha

Almost done with this bad boy. It's based on the 1/18 Autoart and I put the BN Sports kit on it and the 326power wing to go with the drift theme. The wheels are Blitz 03 done in gold (Molotow chrome airbrushed and with Alclad gold over it), engine bay is Kandy Gold and body is Kandy Red. Tons of other parts added.

It started out like this

And now it's like this

Dual caliper setup on the rear

Gotta put another coat or two of clear over the body since I put the metal sticker and decals on. Gotta respray the front bumper since I messed up and had to sand parts of it down. And still some little details I need to paint on the chassis. It's just been super hot, plus sprained my wrist a few weeks ago and it is still healing.

Cool.

I don't know really what to do with these cars. Closest track is like Seattle. I might just do one eBay auction for everything. Hate to just throw it all out.

I had an AMT Hodges Dodges kit as well. However, I had a model magazine that showed how you could cut up bodies to alter the wheel base. So I made mine into a funny car. I didn’t do such a hot job but it was fun.

Funny Ramchargers story; my father was invited to show the 1934 LaSalle at the 1964 New York Auto show. Sports Illustrated magazine sponsored a display called, “Cavalcade of the Car.” It showcased the top 10 most influential automobile of the first 50 years as picked by a panel of judges. The 1934 LaSalle Convertible Coupe was considered ground breaking for the time. Its long hood, short rear deck, tall slender grill, pontoon fenders and low roof line led the way. The 1934 LaSalle was also technically innovative. It had independent front suspension, shock absorbing bumpers and hydraulic brakes.
Anyway, the morning after the show closed my brother was waiting for my father to bring the car out of the building when, as he put it, “All hell broke loose.” One of Hodges Dodges Ramchargers drag cars had also been on display somewhere. All the trucks and trailers to transport the vehicles were in a staging yard many blocks from the show building. So this drag car comes out of the building, turns onto the street full of taxis and other cars and the guy driving lights it up, open exhaust bouncing off the tall building and covering everything a thick layer of tire smoke. Talk about gone in seconds… I heard that story so many times that I think I was there.

@Tcoat, I used to use a floor wax, think future, to coat models and slot cars. Do you know the modern day equivalent,?

Same thing.
I actually tint it with water colours to bring out panels and details. Every model I do has Future on it although it goes by Pledge now.

Not quite plastic, but I saw this today. Could be cool to try building, doesn't seem extremely complicated: https://www.robotshop.com/community/...drone-airplane
