Where are the forced induction dynos? Where are the stock block HP estimates?

Just curious when we can expect to see this information?

The bottom end internals are different on this generation - just surprised we havent seen more information about the stock block limits - and FI gains.

Am I just missing this conversation?

You're missing the glaring fact that 2022+ FA24 ECUs haven't been cracked yet.

No tuning = No boost

Yes, I am waiting for the first tunes to come out with the catless headers from the first gen. I assume it will be some significant amount of time after that before FI stuff starts happening. I mean, given the change in size of the engine, is it likely that Gen 1 FI solutions are going to work with little/no modification on Gen 2?

Heck, I was pretty surprised to find out you could swap the headers.

HKS is running a piggyback of some sort with their turbo kit in development, and is a littler over 300hp to the wheels.

I was curious if we were going to have to start using piggybacks on this gen with the new ECU. When the information coming from Ecutek was not very encouraging I thought that was a strong indication towards yes.

I wonder how much that's going to affect the cost of tuning when you have to buy additional hardware + installation? Either way still going to get some parts + a tune when I can do so.

Or am I just jumping the gun and you think EcuTek will get it cracked eventually?

Ecutek is HQd in the UK. UK has not even got a launch date and price yet for gen 2 while Gen 1 was launched simultaneously globally. So work on it has not even started to predict how hard / easy it will be. They will crack it, am sure when they get onto it. No one has shared this gold dust of information, so pin the post

The FA24 is the same physical size as the FA20. That's why the headers still fit. The displacement is only larger because they increased the bore.

I'd guess the modifications that might be required are more likely due to the changes in body style than the engine itself. I'm taking a wild guess here but some of the differences might affect mounting points for the intercooler, fan shroud clearance, intake piping clearance around the radiator support, also throttle body location might be different since the intake manifold iirc is different. I could be wrong and all of this has remained unchanged

To be transparent, I have not owned anything I wanted to ring more power out of in a long time. For those that have been in the weeds with this recently, what should expectations be?
I would love to hear some predictions as to what gains might be for folks looking for more out of their daily driver.
Will you be going with:
1.Full exhaust from headers out?
2.Turbo
3.Supercharger
4.ECU only

Just considering ways to get a bump without adding much weight and not losing dependability. What direction will you take?

I intend to do it exactly what I (and a lot of people) did on Gen1 - catless header + tune, preferably e85. On Gen1 those 3 things - header, tune, e85 - got you about a 15 percent gain, with a much better torque curve, in hp/torque at a cost of less than $1500 (the OFT tune was $500 and my JDL ceramic coated headers were $750 new). The reliability for this setup was not much different than stock.

I will reuse the headers on Gen2- just will be waiting for a tuning solution - which probably will be ECUTek first and will be more expensive than OFT - probably $1500, although admittedly it will be a more custom tune. Not sure OFT (or anyone else) will offer a tuning solution and don’t know when that will be.

If the gr86 picks up as much as the first gen with a header, tune, and better fuel you will likely be looking at 230-240whp.

So an increase 20-30 whp?

Didnt the first gens get more than this with headers/e85/tune? I see delicious tuning say that with the ace header and e85 they could get 40-45 hp...

Lies?

They never advertised 45hp peak gains, they don't even claim that for the max under the curve gain. 15-30HP peak increase is what you'll see on the dyno numbers

Since header, tune, and "better fuel" (E85) was mentioned, I believe @Blighty was referring to this link, which does advertise such gain. The link you provided is specific to headers and tune only.
