...but spending $4,400 just for door covers is hard pill to swallow. There's alumium door cover from Spnywoosh. I've heard some of older ver doesn't fit well, but cost only $220 isn't bad and shave 4lbs-ish total.

Anyways, keep up the good work!
Yeah just removed the ecu bracket no need for a lighter one.

Those door covers look amazing from TRD I wasn't aware of them. I weighted the stock door panels and they came in at a hefty 6lbs each.

A forum member had those alumimun ones but fitment was spotty im going to pass.

14R front bumper = much want

Those door panels

I have been thinking about carbon fiber doors. But in order to do so I would want door bars. Which bring my weight lost from the door right back up. Maybe one day.

Espirit, Revolution, Avest & I swear there was 1 more Japanese brand that made cf door cover for 86/BRZ. Can't think of that brand name top of my head atm.

As for 14R front bumper, it's full dry carbon fiber, so it's light and strong. It comes w it's own lil front splitter thing that look sweet. Sad part is its a set w fender due to 25mm wide (not sure that's a total or each side).

But poor person like me, can't fork out $15k

Those TRD cf panels are looking extra tasty, but damn, no elbow rest. I use the side elbow rest so much while driving that there's a distinct mark on mine...

Also kind of surprised that the weight difference between the TRD cf and stock panel isn't large enough to justify that insane price tag

Already have my aluminum bracket capped off with a lightweight titanium bolt Since the 17+ have a mounting point on the bottom of the computer I left the 3rd mounting point open but its very sturdy

TOday is ALIEXpress Mod day. Had radiator hose kit and some emblems dirt cheap from aliexpress that have been laying around awhile.

Used all the big hoses skipped a few small ones that would've been a bigger PIA. They say STI, I have a Toyota owell there were like $25 shipped and they are red.

The internal diameter was too big anyway as I tried them on the TB lines, So I used it for the oil pump hose. They did supply the 4" hose next to that but would be a pain without removing stuff that looked like would need a gasket

Also got some TRD badges. They are metal which is good

This going to be about 2 mods done at once.

1. Mustang 3rd Brake light Relocation. Instructions found here https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72225
The only thing I did diffrent was create my own shelf cover from coroplast and carpet. - Saved .5lbs I also think it looks better nice and smooth

2. Carbon FIber plate to fill rear seat hole. This was done on the TRD Griffon although it was hard to find exactly what they did. THis only added .5 lbs over my coroplast/carpet. This however should add structral rigidity to that hole which is the main purporse plus I think it looks Sick!

So the Shelf first

weights

Stock shelf weight

Had to relocate the keyless entry computer from off the rear shelf

NOW onto the CF PLate this took the most time to cut and get right

OLD plate and some of the plastic removed that was no longer needed

Used rivnuts for the top bolts (TItanium BOlts)! rivets for the bottom

I will post more pics later today with the rest of the interior installed. THinking of making a diffrent plate for the bottom seat area.

Just to follow up with some hours of driving and sitting at long fast food drive throughs only a few spots melted and that is where the pipe was pressed up against the coroplast.

Ive taken all panels off since this week I will be taking on my most difficult project to date. Dropping the Tranny to install and LW FLywheel!!

Front plates starting on bottom

Back to front

Small burn where rear Resonator on catback is touching

Biggest melt through is where its up against the front pipe

As you can see not bad at all. Do keep in mind in most areas I have a 1/2" between the panels and body which gives it a little space.

I wanna know is, how long did it take to find that huge cf plate sheet? Of course it doesn’t come cheap, but more of, not common to find that big of cf plate sheet.

Its only a 2x4 sheet thickness determines the price more. Too be honest I could have went thicker to make it more "structural".

I went 3mm, should've went to 4mm to be stiffer. The Economy sheets are Matte/unfinished on the backside, finished on the front.
